Junk Mail

Junk Mail
I've noticed that my credit union charged me $2 dollars a month to have the actual statement instead of e-paper. I understand that this is one way to cut down waste, and save trees. I am all for that, but I can see better with the actual statement in my hands.

I can read line by line and can tell where the money went so much easier, without scrolling up, down, left side to right side.

Utilities companies, government agencies, and others all want you to sign up for e-this and e-that or else you will be charge a fee.

Now, glance over to the picture, those are my junk mail in a course of a week. Many of these letters are from cable companies, credit card companies and car insurance companies.

I realize that it is not fair for those companies that I am involving with forced their customers to go paperless while those that I had nothing to do with filled up my mail box. I don't get to receive my bills in my own mail box anymore, but what I receive are just junk mail.

Now, this leads me to my questions (as I am late) for this week:

1) There are people that can't afford to have computer or internet, how do they view their bank statement or their bills?

2) Should there be a law allowing us to charge a fee to the company for every junk mail they send to our mail box?

Time to join Thursday Two Questions!

Who to Trust With Your Tattooing Needs

Just because someone has access to tattoo machines and easy tattoo kits for sale does not always mean that they are the best quality, or even that the person is that good of a tattooer.

If you aren't sure where to look, check out http://www.accesstattoo.com for some great deals on all your tattooing needs. Having quality products when it comes to tattooing is extremely important. The actual tattoo gun itself is a very important piece of equipment that you cannot skimp out on.

Updates On: Pain In My Heart

My mom and I went to see the oncologist yesterday, and she confirmed that my mom has cancer. She said the only treatment is to have a lumpectomy, but it is very small to concern about, and it could have been there forever.

Since this was my mom's first mammogram, the lump showed up, and it's a cancerous lump! Giving my mom age, her diabetes, high blood pressure, and macular degeneration, I translated my mom's wishes on NOT TO DO ANYTHING! The lump is not spreading, or life threatening, but it might grow bigger!

The oncologist was very comfortable with our decision and holding my mom's hands the entire time she was with us. She gave my mom a prescription to take in helping to shrink the lump and suggest a breast exam every six month.

However, the medicine also comes with side effects of joint pain, body ache, and low energy. If my mom feels any of these symptoms, she can stop taking them, and it's totally fine too.

Pain In My Heart

My brain is dull, well not exactly since I like to create digital art; it is just not in logical orders when I sit down in front of my computer and want to write. I know what I want to do, but the brain and the fingers refuse to work together.

I can even feel an empty space in my skull if that's possible! My thoughts are scattered on different subjects, but one thing remains steady: "what to do now that the doctor told me my mom has cancer in her left breast!!!"

These winter teasels decorated the edges at one of the fields where my son played soccer. They were quite amazing and beautiful as each one was different from the others.

Frustration Solved!

As far as I can tell Google + is made to be like another social networking site, such as Twitter and Facebook. I only know a handful of bloggers who has switched to Google + profile, but for me I won't unless it was forced on me (like the new dashboard!).

The funny thing about Google + is that it depends on how you use the setting option. You can set it so that the public can see what you're posting or sharing on your page, or you can limit it to just your circles.

Thus, when I landed on a person's Google + profile, I can access some and some I have to add them to my circles in order to view or return comment.

Theater Dates You Won't Want to Miss

If you have never seen a Broadway play or musical or attended a live-theater performance, you do not know what you are missing out on.

Thanks to the popularity of musicals, not to mention the success of the current movie version of Les Miserables, it is now hip to see a legitimate presentation. They may not be the staid or stodgy plays your parents saw, either. Today’s presentations have many of the bells, whistles and visual effects not present in plays of years past.

A lot of people are already familiar with The Wizard of Oz through repeated showings on television, but Wicked is a musical that some people may not be familiar with until they have seen it on stage. Billed as the untold story of how the evil and good witches came to meet, Wicked has wowed audiences since its Broadway debut in 2003. Wicked has attracted audiences in Chicago, Los Angeles and other American cities and is now on its current national tour.

The Lion King was a smash success in 1994 as a Disney movie, and Elton John and Tim Rice capitalized on the movie’s roaring popularity with a musical three years later on Broadway. Over 15 years later, the musical has played to millions of people in the United States, Canada and worldwide. Those who are on the West Coast may want to pick up Lion King San Francisco tickets for its performance at the Orpheum Theatre. There are also versions of this musical playing on Broadway and in Texas, among others.

If you are in a mood for a hauntingly beautiful musical, Les Miserables is an excellent choice. It is popular once again thanks to the Anne Hathaway-Hugh Jackman headlined movie, and this is an example of where watching the movie could get you to a theater to see the real musical in action. The show has lasted 25 years on Broadway and is on tour nationally to celebrate.

Are you in the mood for a more risqué musical? The Book of Mormon, from the creators of the raucous Comedy Central show South Park, is on a traveling show now in addition to its performances in New York. It is not a musical for the conservative theater-goer, as it makes fun of religion and musicals, but those with a sense of humor may love the send-up.

If you go to a show in another city, don’t just go for the show. Make it part of the experience. If you head to Chicago to see Book of Mormon, eat the deep-dish pizza. Take in a Cubs game. Visit an art museum. Find a restaurant that has pre- or post-theater menus. You can find restaurants with regular-sized meals open for the show-goers, and their staffs are trained to get you out on time to the show.

Scheduling the trip will also give you time to find airfare and hotel specials. Check with the website for the show you are seeing. There may be hotel discounts you did not know about. It is all about the planning.

If you have never taken in a show, then make it something on your to-do list. It is a fun way to spend an evening and, in tandem with other activities, can be a great way to spend a weekend traveling solo or with a significant other.

Growing Within

Another Living Thing Inside
I saw this at Belle Ilse Conservatory some time ago, and it took my breath away for a moment of astonishing. It was amazing to see something that grows inside of something else. There were quite a few of these plants around, and all were containing another living thing inside each of them.

Making Time for Travel with any Desk Job

Sometimes, with a busy job, it can be difficult to get away and take a vacation. We need time to relax, recharge and enjoy a break from the normal. Without much time for a vacation, one must become creative to make sure time is taken away from the job. Here are some ways to make sure you get your vacation this year.

How to Make Traveling Easier When You're Busy

Sometimes you must plan ahead and stick to your plan in order to get a vacation. If you tell your boss you will be taking time off six months from now, most of the time they won't turn you down. Of course, you still need to make sure the time you want to take your vacation doesn't interfere with the busiest work season or something else. Traveling when others don't travel will make it easier to get away from your desk.

Making time for travel includes convincing yourself that you need the time to travel. This can be hard for some workers, but you need the time away and your place of work will survive without you. Without vacation time you can begin to wear down and become burnt out. This makes you less productive and won't help anybody where you work. You need time away, whether it's a full week or just a long weekend.

Getting creative can help you take a trip and get away from the daily work routine. Plan a long weekend when there's a holiday you will be taking off anyway. A three or four day trip to Las Vegas including a stay at Caesars Palace can be just what you need to break away from the normal. If you already get a holiday on a Monday, you can take off Friday and make it a four-day weekend.

Saving for Your Trip

We often let money become the excuse for not taking a vacation, especially if you work overtime and get paid for it. You may rationalize that you won't get your full pay because your vacation pay only covers a 40-hour week and you usually work an extra ten hours or more every week. However, if you save for your trip properly, money will no longer be an obstacle or an excuse.

Start your travel budget at the beginning of the year for your next trip. Give yourself at least six months to save and plan for more than you really think you will need. Once you finish your trip, begin saving for the next trip immediately. This will help to ensure you always have money set aside for travel and you won't be able to use it as an excuse to avoid your well-deserved vacation.

Why Vacation is so Important

Taking a vacation provides many benefits including increased efficiency and productivity, lower stress levels and higher energy levels, improved mood and better relationship with the ones you love. Without a vacation, you can become stressed out and burnt out making work harder than it needs to be. If you have a family, traveling will give you memories and an opportunity to connect with your children and your spouse.

It's important to get away from work and you deserve a vacation. Make sure you not only make time for your next trip, but also shut off all the possible ways your work can contact you while you’re gone. This is your time and you should enjoy it!
