Shooting the Breeze

I have noticed that many bloggers seem to post less and less now. I understand that we all have other jobs beside blogging; unless we are making thousands a month, we can't live on blogging alone.

Some have stopped altogether and kind of disappearing from cyberspace. Myself, I have posted less too because of life's demand.

I barely check into my blogs as I used to. I only get excited to post when I snapped new pictures. Going through my archives are not even fun anymore.

My questions then are:

1) Are you burned out from this passion of writing/blogging?

2) Do you post whenever you feel like or do you have a schedule?

Time to join Thursday Two Questions!

  1. Hey Sis, I feel you. Life has been overflowing everywhere - no time, no money!! I have no shortage of other blessings though - lots of grands and great grands to keep me busy and then with the job demands of late I can hardly sleep let alone blog!

I want to always be able to look up and see you and my other cyber space buddies though. Love ya, hugs!!

  3. Hi there Icy! my passion is still burning :) in fact I just created another blog haha, one on parenthood...but yes sometimes the magic seems to go away and I don't really feel like blogging yet the love for it always comes back....I am trying so hard to update my blog on a regular basis, it takes a lot of the time I am supposed to be spending in my career advancement but what can I do, I just love writing so much :) and I just love hearing from friends in the blogosphere like you....don't ever disappear please :) I know you wont...by the way I changed the background of my blog to purple recently...I got influenced by your love for purple...even my phone case is colored purple now :) have a great day! keep capturing the sky on your side of the world...someone here is viewing them and loving them :)

  4. I am sort of lacking of motivation to write occasionally.

Balance between work, blogging and family life is another problem.

    But still struggling through.

Who know, someone can still able to find me a hundred year later.

  5. Icy, I don't post as much as I used to but it's only because I now work and am writing elsewhere. I try to post at least three times a week with specific memes.

I love to write and photograph so I really have never been burned out with blogging.

  7. Hi Icy ~~ I had several blogs that I shut down. I love to write there isn't much joy if no one reads what has been written. My daughter accused me on those little read blogs that I was the 'Mad Blogger' writing away while no one ever read what I wrote. (I do have a 'privat blog' that only I can access and post on. It is for writing exercise assignments, practice, and experiments.)

    1. Not many on my blog roll are blogging anymore. A lot have gone to FaceBook. I have a page there but aren't very active. FaceBook is not for writers.

    2. I sort of have a schedule now to match the memes of which I participate. Too, most of my readers are some of the regulars also using those memes. But I also write for my family and friends who are not bloggers. That is why I can get 'golf' out of two questions like I did today. Golf is also for my "P" word combined post there with 2Q's.

  8. The intersting thing is that towards the end of last year I did feel burned out and rather thought my blogging days were drawing to a close, but with the New Year came new enthusiasm, it seems. I decided to take up a walking challenge, and it was fun to do, so I brought back Macro Monday, which was also fun to do, and before I knew it I was posting almost every day!

I've settled down a bit now and tend to post 3 to 4 times a week, I suppose, though I haven't checked. I don't blog to a schedule, although Macro Monday led to How to be HAPPY! and then I took on Illustration Friday, so from that point of view, I guess I do ... however, other posts are made as and when the spirit moves, and I don't feel that I have to continue with any of my 'memes'. I'll stop them when they stop being fun to do, just as I stopped ABC Wednesday when it got to be a bit repetitive.

Many of my old blogging friends have stopped blogging, too. I'm quite sad about it because I used to enjoy reading their posts and considered them online friends.

Love your photo. Such an atmospheric shot!

  9. Hi Icy, I must admit I am pretty organized and the group I'm with is a daily photo blog, so that's pretty much how it goes. I admit there have been a few times where I've had a day off, but 99% of the time it's a daily thing!

  10. I lost my pizazz for blogging when my father-in-law became seriously ill a few years ago. We were commuting to where he lived every other weekend. Both hubby and I became very worn down and developed our own health issues. Father-in-law passed away in January and now I am attempting to get back into blogging but there are other projects that are impeding my efforts. No, I do not have a schedule for posting. There are memes/challenges that I like to participate in but there are times I'll skip them for weeks because I don't have a photo or I'm just too exhausted from whatever is going on.

I agree with what Judy said at the end of her post (above). ;-)

Hope you have a good weekend!

  11. 1) Are you burned out from this passion of writing/blogging? I was burnt out for a while. I think it is hard to keep going full force. We all need a little break. I worked on my cabinets for a while, remember? It helped.
    2) Do you post whenever you feel like or do you have a schedule? I really don't have the time, but I am motivated to build SS into something that I can find spending money with...So currently, I tried to keep my garden, food, and T2Q post going because those I can incorporate with my freelance writing jobs. So they are important. Otherwise...I really have no motive to blog...other than sometimes being able to let out some of my feelings.

  12. Its been more than 3 years since I started blogging but I am still very addicted to it! Though there is no schedule but I try to do at least one post per week. The thing is I enjoy writing so it never bores me.
    Have a lovely weekend :)

  13. Apparently, I'm the loquacious type. There are seasons in blogging. Spring will be one of the worst times because people begin to be busy out of doors again. Summer will be pretty good if it is a hot one. But, truth to tell, I've noticed a falling off with many.
