Winter Teasel

Dried Teasel
These winter teasels decorated the edges at one of the fields where my son played soccer. They were quite amazing and beautiful as each one was different from the others.

Pokey Pines

The way they presented themselves, I had no curiosity in touching. We showed up at this field in the late season, so my mind was wondering on what they looked like before reaching this stage.

Mosaic of Winter Teasel
I want to return to this field in spring to see if there will be changes, and how these winter teasels look. But then again, when that time comes around, I do wish I could remember :-) Have a great weekend, everyone!

  7. I will try my best to remind you to look for them! :) I am curious too as to how they looked before their state now...as such they look lovely still....no wonder because your magical photo taking hands captured their beauty wonderfully...the dreamy side of me wishes they are colored Purple! I know you'd love them to be purple as much as I do :)

  10. That's intriguing. I never seen one. Well, living in the tropics I guess. :D Looking at the image of the plant makes my skin itch. Funny how the subconscious will react to a picture. :D

  13. I just love your teasel photo mosaic - they are gorgeous. I'd love a vase of them in the house through winter - they'd be quite stunning but possibly dangerous!

  14. Agree--Teasel is a wonderful dried plant. Such intricate structure. I can remember a time when they were sprayed gold and silver and used as accents in flower arrangements. They make great macros, as your mosaic proves. Oh, I think they start out pale shades of purple--at least in my parts of the country.
