Frustration Solved!

As far as I can tell Google + is made to be like another social networking site, such as Twitter and Facebook. I only know a handful of bloggers who has switched to Google + profile, but for me I won't unless it was forced on me (like the new dashboard!).

The funny thing about Google + is that it depends on how you use the setting option. You can set it so that the public can see what you're posting or sharing on your page, or you can limit it to just your circles.

Thus, when I landed on a person's Google + profile, I can access some and some I have to add them to my circles in order to view or return comment.

This is where my frustration came in: once I add a person, that person would become obsessively "SHARE A POST DIRECTLY WITH YOU" notifications flooding through endlessly. It is annoying as heck, as I don't do this to them. (Unless I did but didn't know when I hit share. For that, I sincerely apologize as I had no intention of doing so.)

Just share your damn post on your damn page without SPECIFICALLY TAGGING someone with it. If you visit them, they will visit you. It always takes two to tangle!!!

Well, to eliminate this frustration, I did a search on Google + help, and so glad to know that there were plenty of other people who are fed up with this "SHARE A POST DIRECTLY WITH YOU" trouble.

You can "un-friend" the person, go to setting and change who can share with you to just your circle or yourself! Problem solved!!!

My questions are:

1) I still don't know much about Google +, so is it really important to have another profile out there online that just sucks up your time?

2) Are you a type that tagged people when you share something on your page like Google + and Facebook?

  1. Hello
Thank you for visiting me and leaving your kind comment!
I agree with what you say about Google+. !

  2. For me the choice was whether I wanted to live with Facebook's issues, or with Google+ issues.
I decided for Google+ till they'll resolve at Facebook that whatever one posts is their property, because it's clearly against copyright laws (since I post my paintings regularly... well you understand).

  3. Haha. You're so funny, but sincerely truthful. I do get some people who share this post directly with you kind of message - haha, and it is distracting since it alerts you on email. I don't use G+, as it is I don't even go to FB unless my son post my photos, then I have to go check them out.
Oh my gosh, for me, it is like go look and run. No time to tag and what not.

  4. I am using it but should probably say it is using me as I am clueless. I have 80+ in my upper right hand corner but am afraid to peek as last time I did it flashed who sent me what and disappeared before I could do anything with it. It would not let me copy and paste so I could return visits. I am feeling truly annoyed by the whole thing but grateful for the new "friends" it has brought me. I just don't know how to control it. Every time someone tries to chat me up google pops in and says your chat is public then I am racing around to close windows. It's unlike any bookmark site I have seen, and makes me feel like big brother is watching me. Some bloggers are only found their and while I don't want to lose them I don't want to lose me either.

  5. i hardly use google +, i do receive notifications of some though having shared their links with me, but i had changed my settings not to receive any notifications, so i am not bothered with it anymore. i did not know tagging also works in google +.

  6. I just made an account on Google + the other day. It was just out of curiousity more than anything else. I dont think I will spend any time over there. I still do not have a fb account. Though I am relatively active on twitter where I do share my post links but it is not specifically to someone.

  7. I've been thinking about using Google+ and have spent a little time trying to figure it out but too lazy to get used to the dashboard and everything else...so I still am not active in Google plus and unless everyone shifts to Google plus for networking I will stay on FB to get in touch with friends...happy that you solved your recent frustration...my most recent frustration is setting up the new domains that I bought hahaha, gee I have been spending nights now trying to figure out how to set my bought Google domains to blogger..wish me a lot of luck please LOL...anyway when I am in the mood for tagging and really have the time, I do tag friends at FB...but somehow I wish I could get away from FB to spend the time blogging instead and writing in other online sites...love love love the yahoo article of yours :)

  8. I have stayed away from Google+ for the time being. I don't know much about it and the last thing I need is to be spammed by posts etc. There are only so many hours in a day to catch up with everything :)

  9. Oooh I got so upset with this stuff flooding my email once that I locked down. It's not doing that anymore so that's a good thing. Maybe they got wiser? or learned a new rule about flooding?

However I still get the one consistently annoying share a post with you. I don't mind from people I know and interact with, but if I don't know you or even what language that is in, yea I'm upset!

2 I tag only who I want to chat with or if I'm responding to something the person said on my page/profile etc.

    Aloha :)

  11. My problem is that I don't have the energy for more than one or two social media sites. I have heard good things about google plus, and I do have a profile, but I never use it. Perhaps I should. I don't know.

  12. I haven't been able to get into a couple of the blogs I follow because according to the google error message, "you are not a member of _________'s circle." I guess they eventually will force it on us all...
