Energy Deficiency

My brain is not working, I swear it was a few seconds ago! Despite the cold and damp weather, I am still kicking and try very hard to get back into my groove! I was able to upload a few photos and schedule a couple of posts. Right now, all I want to do is taking a nap!

I am lacking energy, badly, honestly, and completely!

I seemed to only able to carry out one task at a time, and then totally shut down, or maybe I should say bounding down to the couch for a rest. Truly, I have not been very productive, but found myself napping off and on throughout the day.

I even try to pump myself up with caffeine! Not working...not a bit! I drank that Coca Cola, that bad bad soft drink, but my eyes just shut down automatically after a few minutes.

Then I remember that I haven't been very diligent in taking my vitamins, especially my B12! I knew from my friend, Robin, who was diagnosed with B12 deficiency last month that this could be my problem also. So I got back on taking my supplements last night, and hope it will kick in soon.

My questions are:

1) Do you take energy supplement?

2) What is your favorite way to pump up energy beside exercise?

  1. I am not very good about taking supplements but I do think that they can help with certain issues.

  3. Icy, I don't take vitamins or supplements. I find that when I need sleep and have no energy, I take a long nap. What always does the trick for me though, is to take a walk, even if it is a cold gray day.

  4. I know what you mean about the cold, damp days Icy. We have barely seen the sun in weeks and right now we have ice fog.

I do take supplements including Vitamin E, D and potassium. I find that if I have upbeat music I feel more energized. So I grab my mp3 player and listen while I do housework or other tasks.

  5. I take some supplements sometimes.
Liquid chlorophyll helps create energy. better than iron pills for me. so I take some sometimes. I was introduced to it by my midwife some years back when my blood iron count was low. It boosted up the count right away.

  6. Yes, Icy, I take a multiple vitamin, one with zinc and other for eyes, and calcium supplements.

My favorite quick pick-me-up is two soda cracker peanut butter sandwiches and a cup of coffee.

  7. Sometimes I too get that feeling, it feels like I have been drained of all energy. But I never take any supplements. I just rest or sleep a while. Hope you get better soon, have a lovely week :)

  9. 1) Do you take energy supplement? Yes, I take iron, Fish oil- which is omega 3 calcium occasionally. Sounds like some of the comments have good advice like omega3- zinc. You should take a multivitamin too, it's can't hurt.
    2) What is your favorite way to pump up energy beside exercise? I do something I love...that always get me back on track...

  11. Vitamins certainly do make a difference, but I found out that one of the blood pressure pills the prescribe for me causes drowsiness and then I know you are like me in that you are pushing yourself to do so many things...How can we not be tired?

I find that if I am doing something I love I will lose track of time and end up staying up past my bedtime. Would you consider that having more energy?

    Hugs!

  12. I need to begin being diligent with my supplements.

I am anemic so I take iron supplements.

I do different things to keep my energy up, blog, sing, dance, listen to music and fall to my knees and pray/beg God for help :)

    Aloha :)
