Birthday Celebration

My youngest child turns 14 today, and I feel a bit unbalance with the thought that those years went by in a blink of the eyes. We can't stop going forward or the process of growing. I am getting old, and so will my son.

I still remember carrying him in my belly and went through 12 hours of sheer ripping pain before I could see his little face.  It's love! The greatest love on this earth that we human go through, generation after generation.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JoJo!

Now, these are my questions for this week:

1) Knowing what you knew now, would you chose to have children or would you prefer not to? (My gynecologists, both women, chose not to have children of their own!)

2) Do you still have young children in the house, or are you caring for young ones now?

  1. We have a grandson with a birthday today! Happy birthday to this special kids! And YES...I had 4 sons and I would do it all over again. It was some of the most fun of my life with a house full of boys! My kids are grown and it's just my hubby and I now. Between us we have 5 boys and 1 girl....5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter! Isn't it funny how that worked out? Hugs!

  2. What great photos and memories. Happy Birthday, JoJo - also my nickname :)

    1. I never had children. Now I am too old but if I were younger I think I would want to have at least two. They enrich your life in so many ways as I know JoJo has done for you.

  4. Happy Birthday Jojo. You're right...
I have known many women who decided to not have children. I admire them. I am always to curious not to try something. I wouldn't have children if I knew all that I know now, but the curiosity would still get to me and I would probably end up having a kid so that I can experience it. I don't know how people can be so sure of one direction and stick to it...that is very determined and a trait to be admired.

  5. I thought when I was young that I would adopt as so many children need a good home, but God planned it differently and I adore my children and their offspring! I would not change a thing, even the pain and gray hairs!!! Blessings and joy, Jo Jo!! I hope you have the most wonderful birthday and many more. I know he will bless you, Icy.

  6. oh, Jojo is so cute and growing so handsome. Belated happy birthday to him. I do not have kids, knowing what I know, I still have no preference, I believe life is blessed differently either way, I would love to have a kid and enjoy motherhood, which I know I will enjoy so much, however, I love my life as it is now too that I also won't mind if I won't have any child at all.

  7. Hi Icy, good questions. Yes, I would have children again. We have five, six or seven maybe next time would be nicer. They are all grown and gone and have all been married at least once, one has been married twice.

Then we have six grandchildren. That might be all we get of them.

  9. Children do grow up way too fast. We waited 8-years before even considering to start a family. That was the right thing to do for us. By the time, our first child was born I felt like the timing was perfect. Over all, my children have been a tremendous joy despite the sorrow and I would do it all over again just the way we did in the beginning. I cannot imagine life without my children.

No, I don't have any small ones in the house. Our youngest is now 18 and a freshman in college. He lives at home and I hope he'll decide to stay here till he graduates.

  11. Your children's childhood certainly flies past in the blink of an eye, I still find it difficult to believe that our girls are 28 and 32!!

  12. No small ones at home now. I'd absolutely do it all again and I worry a little for those who have chosen not to have children. They sure do grow fast!
