Managing Your Online Reputation
I have been playing around with the HTML codes on my blogs for the last couple of months, and finally today I'm happy to say that it is where I wanted it. I am a novice when it comes to HTML, but my web design classes from way back in college really came in handy, and useful.I know the basic of HTML language, and have to figure out slowly on how to add or change things. However, my reputation in this area is exceeded my skill according to my friend Judy, just because I help installed some snippet codes for her blogs on occasions.
Having a good reputation suits me just fine and is something I thrive for. This includes everything I do such as taking pictures, writing reliable articles, or just being a faithful supported friend. My online image is as important to me as in my real life.
Website business owners and web content writers face bad reviews or undesirable comments every day. Thus, online reputation is even more crucial for them than not as competition is very fiery, when everything is just a click away from establishing a potential customer or a loyal reader!
For this reason, there is help from website such as reputation.com that will monitor internet activity, alert and identify damaging part of your business. They will help you managing your online reputation so you can succeed.
Now this is where my Wandering Thought comes in to play:
1) How important is it for you to have a good reputation in the virtual world?
2) If you are an online business owner/writer/blogger, do you want to be known by your reputation?

A good reputation is always something positive - even more so in this virtual world we live, work and play in.
ReplyDeleteI got to do this, it is so important, I will take you up on it.
ReplyDelete1) For me, extremely. I am a Marketer and working online through Global Technology Companies. It is very often that potential employers will scout me out on different network profiles. It is very time consuming to be everything yourself. Get your ideas out and manage your profile. There will be a time when I will have to hand it over to the professionals.
2) I am a blogger, social media techy marketer, writing communications, ads and blogs - not so much a writer - in terms of just freelance writing like you. Though I think when I am retired I will have more opportunities to do so. Yippee.
"This includes everything I do such as taking pictures, writing reliable articles, or just being a faithful supported friend"- yes, more than anything else, I treasure my friends, which includes friends I found online, I try my best to keep them, for they are some of the best priceless gifts we got. Right now, I do not focus as much in my reputation, though I stop myself from breathing out sometimes afraid of sending out negative thoughts, which I believe is being part of keeping the "reputation", but as much as possible, I try to be "just me" as possible. I am like Self Sagacity- I am more of a blogger not so much of a writer- I wish to improve my craft in writing though and I am happy that blogging has helped me so.
ReplyDeleteA good reputation ANYWHERE is important to me. I try to be who I really am, in real life, or in virtual life. I can't understand people who try to pull the wool over others' eyes online.
ReplyDeleteA good reputation is important online and off, more so when it comes to business. It is very important to me to have a good reputation online as I deal with various sponsors and companies. I also would like to think I have a good reputation with my online friends although lately I haven't been around all that much.
ReplyDeleteI love to use HTML too, the more I use it the more I learn.
I am writing for fun. For fun, this is my ultimate aim.
ReplyDeleteIcy, to me you are very knowledgeable in blogging and I try not to lean on you too heavily. You are much appreciated!!
ReplyDeleteMy reputation means a lot to me, which is why I had stopped contributing at one online site as their credibility was shaky. If I cannot believe what I am hearing or reading, I question the reason to invest my time in it, so I try very hard to only represent the truth. I have declined writing articles too which I felt were not in the readers best interest.
As long as I am happy with the things I do and say, I don't care much about my reputation. That's not to say that I don't try to take the high road, because I do.
ReplyDeleteAs far as HTML goes, I would REALLY like my photos to be larger in my blog, but I just can't seem to get it done...
A good reputation is beneficial both online and offline. I have been editing my blog HTML and graphics on my own these few years and it has been learning on the fly. I'm more selective now as with growing kids there has been lesser time to dabble online and I aim to spend my time online more efficiently by cutting all "time waster" activities.
ReplyDeleteI think we should always be true, whether online or offline. It shouldn't be a flip flop. Who then are you truly.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely want an unsullied reputation online just as I have offline.
A terrific post for the day. I do agree with Pat Tillett because I feel the same way he does -- but maybe that's probably because I'm nearly 80 years old -- not to imply that Pat is that old by any means!! I stopped caring/worrying about what other people think of me a long time ago. I do care about how I'm seen through my own eyes and how I measure up to my own values! You're doing a great job with your blog as I'm sure you are with whatever you take on in life! Have a beautiful weekend! Enjoy!
