PicMonkey Photo Editor Online
I went into my Picasa Web Album to clean up last week, and found out that PicNik will be closing down on April 19th. I like that software very much for when I need to do some adjusting to my photos on my blog.
Once it is saved in my Picasa Album, the photo will reflect on my blog post as is! No need for me to save it on my computer, and then re-upload again.
If you are looking for another photo editor to use, try this one: PicMonkey.com! This is a free online website editor, just like the Pixlr Photo Editor as I have mentioned before, without download or sign up.
PicMonkey functions as a website, which is great since my laptop can be rid of one more program on it. What I like about this PicMonkey editor is their different effect options to try, and the ease of navigation. All the tools are on the left side, drag and drop a photo, and play around with what they have to offer.
This is where my Wandering Thought came in to play:
1) Do you know that blogger only allows you 1024 MB for storing your photos?
2) Have you used up this storage space for your blog yet?

Icy, I have had to buy more storage twice. They even asked me to pay for storage for my gmail. First they stiff me on my adsense and now this!
ReplyDeleteI don't use blogger but self hosted wp. Even though I can store pictures on my server I have chosen to download them to picasa online and link directly from there to my blog. I find it easier and it keeps my blog total file size smaller.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been over to my Picasa albums lately but I need to do some cleaning.
ReplyDeleteI did know we were limited to 1024MB, I at about 85 percent used. I either need to delete some photos or buy more space in the not too distant future.
That is why you always find my pictures are down to very small in sizes.
ReplyDeleteLately I've been thinking of how to best store my photos...you just gave me another bright idea...nope I am not aware of the number of photos blogger allows us to store...:-) love that photo in this post Icy, as always...will go check out PicMonkey now...
ReplyDeleteIcy, I'll check out that link. I do also need to check out my Picassa. I'm sure I'm close to that limit. Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Icy for introductions to the two programs. I think I might need them as I am outgrowing Photoscape.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know, because it never occurred to me that I will be blogging this long. Two and a half years now, can you believe it? 10/09?
Oh dear. I do wish I was more computer literate!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about that. I'm not sure how I'll deal with it, but thank you for sharing about this new program.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could see what limit I have now.
Happy Thursday!
Hi Icy ~~ A nice post. I may try the Pic-Monkey if I can remember how to get it and what it is.
ReplyDeleteI am currently using 981MB (95%) of my 1024MB. My other blog, Jim's Little Photo and Poem Place has quite a few pictures on it.
Now I 'shrink' the pictures to a reasonable size by sending them to my e-mail via picasa at a much smaller size, save them with the letter [a] behind the number, and then posting that one with Picasa.
When I get full or very close to it I will switch to Word Press or else start all over again with a new e-mail (i.e. new identity) and new blogs.
I have been blogging since 2005 and have several inactive blogs as well. My 'Ask Dr. Jim (blog)' doesn't use any pictures.
Happy Two Question Thursday!
..
I have started to downsize my photos but I am sure I will eventually reach the limit (I was not aware of it). Thanks for sharing about Picmonkey. I think I am going to love it.
ReplyDeleteIcy, you find the best stuff! Thanks for sharing the link to PicMonkey. That looks like it will be a lot of fun to use.
ReplyDelete1) I "kind of" knew but have never really paid attention to it.
2) I guess I'd better check. I haven't been notified that I have. Hmmmm...
i am very far from using my storage since i reduce all my pix to very low resolution, but i know, in time, i will get the limit since I post lots of photos.
ReplyDeleteI've saved PicMonkey link to try, thanks. No idea what I will do when I run out of storage!
ReplyDeleteI also loved Picnik and was sad to see them go but Picmonkey is great and I use it all the time....As for your blog questions, I afraid I have no input as I don't blog...lol
ReplyDeleteHi Robin,
DeleteThank you for visit and taking the time to comment! I'll see on RedGage!
