Finding My Place In the World

I need to sleep, and I must find a place to rest my body! Somewhere that is safe from intruding eyes, and playfulness of others in my species.

This corner will do, and I'm ready to settle down for a nap. Now only if that lady with the camera would just go away.

Thursday Two Questions #24-On Religion

I made a point of not writing anything about politics and religious, but I'm going to break that mode today. Personally, politics and religion are two areas that I consider "touchy subjects". I respect people's choices on this matter.

I was brought up in traditional Roman Catholic household, and priests and nuns are some what sacred people in our belief. They are God's partners! They're married to God! That's their sacrifice to their human beings, and that is why we hold them on high regards because they are extraordinary people.

In the recent news, a father of two was ordained into priesthood, and received exemption to priestly celibacy. This just threw me out of the loop and has me questioned over and over again about the faith that I was taught to, long ago. I mean, what gives?

Now, if we take this route, we can fall in love with our own priest, hopefully we can get married with him, and oh yes...he can still be a priest with exemption to his celibacy duty. What joy and what heaven it would be!

I am just so disappointed in reading any further about this, and I know we all have different opinion about it.

1) So it would be interesting to know, what do you think of married priests?

2) Would you follow the traditional belief, or would you just crumble and give in to the demand?

White Flowers

Can you wait for spring? Can you see the beautiful flowers and colors everywhere you look? I'm so looking forward to spring.

Upon a trip to my local market, I stopped and took these photos..Somehow, just a few moments looking at these beautiful flowers, my chores seemed less stressful.

Hawk Landing

These photos belonged to JoJo, and I can't take credit for them. While he was outside with his bunny, this hawk landed right in front of him. He rushed back into the house and fetched the camera.

Hawk in the backyard
He snapped a series of photos, but these came out best! The hawk was too busy eating some kinds of berries from whatever left of the vine, and didn't mind getting his photos taken by a little boy.

We had seen this hawk around many times, but often on top of the branches. This was the only time that it came close enough for us to see like this.

Thursday Two Questions #23-Winter Blues

We have been lucky these last few days with warmer weather upon us! The mountain of snow started to melt, and I was able to see a little bit of my drive way surface again. We still have a way to go, but we take what we are given.

When the weather is warm, waking up early in the morning is very rewarding since I can witness the run rise through all the barren branches of my neighbor's giant tree! I'm currently between weather, and something in the air that just makes a stir in me.

1) So how do you recover from feeling withdrawn?

2) Do you allow yourself to experience it fully while go on as if nothing is eating inside of you?

White Adjustable Bar Tools

I have been wanted to replace my adjustable bar tools for quite a while, and finally settled on these styles, and color. For some reasons, white seems to work well in any room. I found these bar tools at CSN stores after looking at many wonderful and fantastic designs.

I like clean line, simple but elegant! Since our kitchen and living room are separated by a divider, the children enjoyed having their snack watching TV over the low wall that we have. Not only the children like the bar tools, but many of our visitors love to congregate there too. Sometimes, they hang over the divider to have a conversation with the others in the living room.

Slowly but surely, spring will be here and I can't wait to have all the windows opening up for fresh air, and companies!

Tan and Pink Hydrangea

This huge hydrangea was found growing against the wall of a building, and it lasted way into December. I believe the heat from the building helped sustaining the plant's life.

I love the light pink color on it, mixing with brown spots as it dried out! It will be a long time yet to see this flower again. Right now, I enjoy looking at it in my archive.

Have a great weekend!

Thursday Two Questions #22-Spring Break

Around my part of the world, people are experiencing cabin fever! The three months of cold, and snow have finally taken its course, leaving many of us yearning for the sun. Everyone is talking about spring break, and where they will be going.

High school seniors are heading to Cancun, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Daytona Beach, etc. Sounds great, isn't it, but we are not going anywhere! We do what we do best: "staycation"!

So here are my two questions for you:

1) Did you ever go on a spring break vacation with your friends when you were in high school?
My answer: I didn't go on any spring break vacation alone, since my parents were very strict!

2) Would you allow you teenager to go to one of those popular destinations even after hearing all the mishap?
My answer: my son and my daughter had to work, thank God! I didn't have to make a hard    decision.

For You

We, my nephew and I, saw this little object buried under the snow, and the sun helped revealing it slowly.

We seek out the treasure, slowly as if we were looking at gold! It was fun to be outside, breathing in fresh air, and spent time looking at ordinary thing.

"For you, auntie!" He said
"Hold it!" I told him, and snapped the picture.

Touches of Lavender Dots on Orchids

Orchids are found at the Belle Isle Conservatory, a place I frequent often.  Every year they have different orchids, and different colors.

I never have enough of orchids, and my favorite color is lavender or purple or anything in between. For the past three years, I have noticed that the Conservatory displays many more types of exotic orchid like these ones.

Some of these lavender orchids also have a touch of pink on their petals. While taking the pictures I didn't notice it until I uploaded them.

Have a great weekend..

Thursday Two Questions #21-News Not Worthy

As many of you know, the East Coast was hit and under a blizzard warning on February 1st!  We woke up with about 8 inches of snow on the ground. We were literary buried in, and I couldn't even open up the back door to get out.

It wasn't that bad as the media made it out to be, and we had worst before. However, yesterday was crazy at the gas station, and at the supermarket. People were stacking up on water and canned food for fear of no electricity.

I took this picture at 6:00 in the morning by the back door while trying to dig us out. We still have freezing wind and snow, but we survive.

1) Do you think the media is responsible for the panic or making a big deal of everything?

2) How should the news relate or inform people without sending then in a chaos?

Back Up Your Photos With a Flash Drive

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PhotoFlashDrive by Pexagon Technology. All opinions are 100% mine.

It's not a secret that I love to take pictures even if I don't prefer to myself as a photographer. From last year experience when my computer crashed, I learned quickly how important it was to have a flash drive to store all of my important documents and photos. I took a lost when my computer had to be reformatted.

Pexagon website offers flash drives for photographers at a very affordable price, and you can also personalized your company's name right on the drive, which ranges from 128 MB to 16 MG. With these options, we can all decide how much storage we will need, or what we can pay.
photography flash drives
You will be glad to know that these flash drives are made in America, and are such wonderful little devices for transporting around. You can be working at a friend's house on his/her computer with your own flash drive hooked up, and eliminate the need to bring your own laptop. Depending on what type of flash drive you choose, it can also be fitted in your shirt pocket.

If you are a photographer, or just love to take pictures, I strongly advise you to get the photography flash drives as a backup system. After losing all of my photos, I've learned to store everything on my flash drive as soon as I downloaded them on my computer.

Red Tractor Truck

I am into signs like these lately just because I think they are quite interesting to see. This is another sign at Pizza Hut. I took the pictures while waiting to pick up personal pizza for the JoJo since he has earned a free certificate at school.

If I didn't have to wait around I would have missed all the signs, Seal of Approval, and Good Old Days at this restaurant. I only snapped the pictures around the area where we were waiting, and now wonder if there were more around.
