Blooming Pink Zinnia
My pink zinnia flowers finally bloom during the first week of August. Amanda at Self Sagacity sent me some seeds of her double-decker zinnias, but I haven't seen them bloom just yet. I love the way her double-decker flowers looked. Quite unique and interesting!
With the strange weather we have this year, every thing seemed to react differently. I planted the zinnia seeds in one big pot, and they actually took off in July while the heat was very intense. They needed extra helping of water in order to grow this year, twice a day for straight two weeks.

Yes, this has been quite a challenging growing season here in Kansas. My kitchen garden did terribly, but now my heat-loving sunflowers have gone crazy! My sweet girl is loving it since she was so disappointed with our lack of cool-weather veggie bounty.
