Thursday Two Questions #37-Window Or Apple?

My laptop is going on five years, and it starts to show signs of aging. Yup, just like a human being, computer also has its own years of wear and tear! Everything takes long to load, and there are "freeze" moments.

The most annoying thing to me is the constant "updates" for Window, browsers, and software! It usually takes forever! I've learned tips and tricks trying to bring it back to its original stage but to no vail! It's a bit better but not like what it used to be.

So I have been visiting Best Buy very often, and eying on the Apple laptop. Everyone I know suggested this Operating system and told me that Apple is smart, very smart, little trouble, etc...Thus, my questions for this week are:

1) Would you switch from Window to Apple?

2) Do you have any recommendation to what is the best operating system to use?

Icy, that photo is spectacular!!!

1. I don't really know the differences though several friends have told me that Apples are much better especially if you are a creative type. I wish I knew more about it. My computer is getting old as well. almost as old as me :D

The first computer I ever used was an Apple Macintosh and I loved it. I would love to have another Apple but they are so expensive.

We build our own computers and the only OS we use is XP Pro. I have used Vista and 7 on other peoples computers and I don't like either of them.

I hear you on the constant updates. Grrr.

I think your new laptop decision should include, "do you have the time to learn an entirely new operating system"?

For me, I prefer to stay with one I'm familiar with. And my best luck with laptopcs have been HP.

:)

Beautiful flower pic!

echoing Jo, the photo is spectacular, i kept on staring at it and not reading the post :(

1. I am using Windows 7, and yes, I love Windows. but I have nothing against Apple only that for the same features, Windows is cheaper.
2. At school, I have Mac, and laptop that is windows 7, since I do not use Photoshop nor movie maker, and have no intentions to do serious photo editing ( I prefer pictures in their natural lighting and colors) I am very much okay with Windows. For me, why pay more when I do not need those features?

I do not know which OS is best, but I know I hated Vista before, which was the OS of my old laptop.

The family now has an iPad, but, I love my computer. I prefer windows, Apple is still too expensive for me. Go for Hp, same one quy and I have. It is reasonable and best youncan get forvthe money now.

I have a fairly new Acer..I don't have another to compare it too, but have heard Apple is good. Mine gets so slow but I notice at certain times of the day it's worse..then at other times- it's smooth, hmm?

Im not a big fan of Apple computers and don't own an apple product but I do have my eye on some of their latest gadgets.

I use Windows 7 :)

I'm not sure I'd switch to apple at all. I might take another product from apple but not switch.

2. I have no idea about a good or better OS. I need to learn more about computer tech first.

Enjoy your weekend.

Mac's are expensive, so I wouldn't switch.
Windows 7 is what I use.

That photo is breathtaking! :)

I recently got a new laptop, but I did waffle back and forth since my brother finally did the switch last year to Apple and LOVES it. The problem for me was that all the Apple laptops I looked at were a lot more expensive than the Windows versions for what I needed and wanted - plus I have a lot of paid software that are Windows based, and I didn't want to replace them or buy the software to make an Apple dual-mode. I'm loving my new laptop - and I'm running Windows 7 and love that, too. :)

I have an HP with 7. I live in fear of learning new computer programs, only because of time constraints.

My desktop died a few months ago. I really prefer a desktop to a laptop. I downloaded all my Carbonite stored files to my laptop which is about four years old - it already had Microsoft Office and a few other things preloaded on it so it is so full and barely functioning - it has
2Gb of Ram and only about 3GB of hard drive space left. I don't know if I can even add more.

It is all so frustrating since I don't have money to even consider a new computer!

I HATE Windows. I constantly have problems with it.
