Thursday Two Questions #33-Watching the Royal Wedding
This week is the count down for the Royal Wedding, and media of all types focus their attention on this event. All I can say is yikes...and I feel bad for the couple! Everything about the Royal Wedding is either on videos or in articles form. I mean really, how much is enough?
The history of the monarchy is fascinating to learn, and we seemed to be quite wrapped up with celebrities/royal people. According to Yahoo news, US still has a higher percentage of people following this event than the UK though.
So my questions for this week are:
1) Are you going to set the alarm to wake up at 4:00 in the morning to watch the wedding?
2) Is Princess Diana's engagement ring represented a taboo of a bad marriage as everyone speculated?

I think there is something inside most women that craves romance and happy endings and what other better place to at least get to see it than the wedding of a prince. We loved Princess Diane, we root for her sons, and now we have a young lady to cheer on.
ReplyDeleteI would not wake up at 4 am to watch this wedding and doubt my hubby would allow me to tape it, but I wish both of them all the best. :-)
1. You're kidding right? There is not much in this world that would have me setting the alarm for 4:00 in the morning. Least of all the Royal wedding, to be honest I could care less.
ReplyDelete2. I think it's sweet he is giving his bride his Mom's ring.
1. No. I believe there will be plenty of reruns of the highlights for weeks to come.
ReplyDelete2. Diane's ring, I believe, represents how much prince William has learned from his mother and how he will use what he's learned to protect his beloved from a similar fate.
1) I am not into the Royal Wedding thing to the point of waking up that early. LOL, but I did enjoy watching Diana's wedding with Prince Charles at one time. However, I think it is very special how Prince Williams met his bride to be. I read about how he was love struck by her cat walk.
ReplyDelete2) I don't believe in the bad luck taboo, but then again, I am not sure if I would want to wear a ring that ended up in a bad marriage either.
hmmm, I do not think so, I am still heavily asleep and don't want to go to work having headache :(
ReplyDeleteNope, I won't be among the watchers of the wedding tomorrow. I might catch it on the news later in the day.
ReplyDeleteNo, that is just silly. It is just a ring, I'm sure Diana would be pleased to know it is being worn and cherished.
1. Nope!
ReplyDelete2. I have no idea about the engagement ring...haven't heard about it.
Oh, and I gather from my geneologist cousin that I'm 11th cousin once or twice removed (can't remember) to Princess Diana. (Little bit of me trivia).
It will be 5PM Friday afternoon in Manila but I will be out doing kites with kids! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAny bad luck can easily be cleaned with good prayers. But Diana's marriage was doomed from the start because Charles was in love with somebody else ;-( and indeed sought that love later!
1. No wedding watching for me. I just want the constant bombardment to go away. We have much more important things to focus on .
ReplyDelete2. I don't think a ring can carry things into life that affects people. We attach emotions to things.
aloha! :)
Did you see it? I haven't seen anything yet. Heard about it at the park today. Interesting to see what it was like.
ReplyDeleteI think she should of had her own, but then you know...there are a lot of rules, also most people just love that they are using someone they admire stuff. Ay Ya!
I didn't get up early to watch - I figure I can catch the highlights over the weekend. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it's sweet he gave his mother's ring to his new bride...I'm sentimental that way. ;)
