Thursday Two Questions #29-Holiday Outfits
Easter is around the corner, and if the weather is warm enough, you will see people dress in finer clothes, especially for those that go to worship. It's an exciting time of the year, and you will see freshness everywhere you look.
Stores display fancy dresses! People shop for new Easter outfits! Here, I have to admit: I fall out of this shopping tradition for Easter clothes. Not that I don't dress the kids in their best clothes; I just think it's overrated!
I believe in making the best out of what we already have, and I only shop for clothes at the beginning of the new school year with the exception of other essentials.
1) What is your family's Easter tradition: going to church, having dinner together, or Easter eggs hunt?
2) Do you go out and buy brand new clothing just for Easter event?

Giving thanks and having family over for brunch is our tradition.Of course there must be chocolate eggs! Lots of them!
Icy, I have not had new Easter clothes since I was a child. I used to buy the children a new outfit for Easter and we always went to church, colored eggs, had baskets and Easter dinner with the family. Now it's church and Easter dinner. I try to look nice with what I already have. The budget does not allow a new outfit and God sees the heart.
1. We all have dinner together and play a special easter egg game that was handed down by my Mom's Greek heritage. We dye eggs and each one of us takes an egg and we go from the youngest to the oldest and try to crack each others eggs. The one who has an egg uncracked either in whole or either side is the winner and said to have good luck all year. A little unique, but never the less a tradition.
2. No I never shop for new clothes just for Easter.
BTW, Icy, your photo is gorgeous.
1) Oh Icy. I have dropped all traditions. I am so nontraditional. You know how I feel about our traditions before. Not having traditions is like living a free life. Having said that, I on the other hand want to instill some traditions for T. We took her egg hunting.
2) Nope, I don't. I never buy just for the holidays. We wear whatever we already have.
Honestly i don't mind if its Easter or something..but now that I am a mother to a 6months old baby I would make it a tradition to go to church..
do I need to answer Q2?.. (wink)
have a nice day!
My family and I don't have a tradition for Easter anymore. My mom used to dress me and my sister up in new outfits for Easter when we were little kids. We also used to have an Easter egg hunt too. It was so fun.
Hi Icy. I couldn't get here using your name on Self Sagacity's site (got a page error message), so I googled your site and came by another way. To answer your questions. 1. Easter is for church, then an Easter Egg Hunt, and then a family dinner. Such a nice day, usually beautiful weather. 2. Only the little ones get new clothes. I have way too many already.
1) Yes I think our tradition is going to church and having dinner and doing the Easter egg hunt. I'm ont sure how it will be this year.
2) No. I do not shop for clothes for any specific holiday. I purchase as the need arises for our family.
Enjoy your weekend!
