Musing With a Purpose-When Kindness Turned Stalking

As I pulled out of a parking lot at a fruit market, a guy walked out in front of my car. I slowed down to let him pass when he signaled me to go. I shook my head to allow him to finish his walk. I didn't feel right and didn't trust this very playful man.

He dashed back and forth in front of my car, making hand signals to stop, to go, and pointed to his car while smiling with a flirty smirk. I smiled back as a gesture of being kind, and thought that I was yielding to a pedestrian.

Shockingly, he took it to a different level, and asked if I would go for a cup coffee. At this point, my patience reached the top of a breaking point. Irritated, I lowered my window and told him, "Man! I'm not interested, and I have to go", and used my hand to ask him to move aside. He laughed as if I've said something funny.

He got in his car, and the next thing I knew he was following me almost to my home. Luckily, I saw him in the rear view mirror, still smiling, and still acted bizarre! Creepy, I tell you! I couldn't believe being kind earned me a follower in the weirdest sense of the word.

At first, I didn't know what to do, but I know that I wouldn't pull onto my driveway, so I drive on around and around. During this time, I keep saying to myself "shoo...this is so freaky" to stay sane. Then I turned into the Police Station near my home, and he was still right behind me.

I park my car in front of the Police building to make sure this stalker sees the sight, and he did before he could get out of his car. Darn, this incident shakes me up for the day! Have anything like this happened to you, and what did you do?

Here are my suggestions:
  • Don't ever go home
  • Go to a nearest Police station
  • If it gets aggressive, call 911
  • Be aware of your surrounding

Flirting With the Devil

I held down my hair, as R. tried to untangle his button. It took us a couple of minutes to be free from each other while others looked onto us. A few strains of my hair got stuck with him, but the embarrassing moment ended.

As if that wasn't enough, R. went on to announce that "BC and TJ will do your observation at my school. You have clearance from your PRINCIPAL, no need to ask for permission!" His voice was so arrogant and confident.

Both TJ and I talked at the time, "I didn't sign up for that school." R. ignored us, and added, "Start as soon as you can!"

There was a mixed of emotions going on inside. On one hand, I would be around him more, but on the other, I didn't want to be watched. He was a fascinating man, and my infatuation had grown quite enormous. He had a hold on me. He hypnotized me by just being him.

Never before in my life did I feel this way about any man. All the relationship that I ever had, started slowly and gradually developed. R. had his own category. Everything about him was the image of my dream in my youth. Powerful but gentle! Confident but caring! Arrogant but tasteful!

I knew there was something between us, some kind of attractions and we were drawn together by an invisible force. Each time we were in the same room, R. would always find a way to be near me, and I was happy.

It seemed to be enough for both of us to just see each other. It seemed a little flirting went a long way until the next opportunity...

Fancy Pansy

Isn't this pansy fancy? Those little droplets on the petals make them look like jewels! I like the little lavender color around the edges of the petals.

When I saw this pansy at the nursery, I was so thrill to see such delicate colors on it. A few drops of the water made it even more precious and fresh!

I like to play with the lighting also, and want to see the back of this flower. So I was happy with the result of these flowers. You can still see the purple color around the petals.

Summer is the best time to see so many different flowers, and colors. Besides Belle Isle Conservatory, I love visiting all my local nurseries too.

Have a great week ahead!

Musing With a Purpose-Poetry Book

I finally have time to go back to CreateSpace to make the final adjustment for my book of poetry! I redesign the cover, upload new photo, and pick out new fonts to be more like me. Many of you have known me as Icy, but I use my real name for the book, and many have never seen a picture of me, unless you're on Facebook. So now you have!

If it wasn't for Carmen at Carmen's Chronicles, who asked about my poetry book, and offered help, I would just let it sits until time is more in abundant. Which is when? I don't know! There are always things to do. Life doesn't stop, so I must catch on.

My daughter came home last night, and asked to switch cars with her since she needed to move her things home from the dorm. She left for a while and returned home again. She got sick!

Between making her some chicken rice soup, picking up JoJo from his overnight at a friend, brought his friend back to our house, to making these boys lunch and dinner, I manage to figure out what CreateSpace wanted from me.

Yes, it wasn't that hard to do; it was just time consuming! I know now what they are looking for! I have just ordered a proof of my book. Will have to wait before the final decision is made for publication!

So thank you Carmen, and thank you to the internet for making self-publishing possible for us all to get closer to our dreams.

A Tangle Mess

Twice a week, I showed up for classes with R. and learned more about him. Each time I was a bit more "in love" with this guy, or whatever my head thought love was. He fascinated me with a broad knowledge. He impressed me with his organization skill and keeping the class fun but under controlled.

One night he put us into groups for a project. We had exactly ten minutes to pick a leader, a writer, and a plant to present our idea. He went around checking on groups' progress, and finding that I was laughing with TJ, a young man in my group. For some reasons, TJ's humor was just right on par with me that night, and we couldn't stop teasing each other.

He went back to his desk with a serious look on his face. "BC. What do you have for your group?" I was surprised to be called on to say the least. He knew I didn't usually talk. I was more behind the scene kind of character. I was not a leader or a speaker when there was a group project. I ran things from a quieter perspective.

So I looked at him, and listed what we had on TJ's paper! I thought that was enough for him to leave me alone, but through the next half an hour, R. insisted on calling my name. He drilled me for every question he had until it started to annoy me.

"I'm not a leader or speaker for my group tonight, Mr. R." I said gently. "Besides, is it picking on BC night?"

As soon as I said that, my classmates all chanted, "yeah, is it?" Some even said, "She usually doesn't talk!"

R. defended himself, "I know, I just wanted to see if she paid attention!"

My group looked at me and TJ, knowing immediately that R. was irritated because we were laughing. It was an uncomfortable situation, and his behavior that night was out of sort.

Then he tried to make peace by walking behind my chair, where there was hardly any space to walk, and brushed his stomach over my head. I was again deep in "lala land" with his cologne, when suddenly I realized that a button on his shirt was weaved in my long hair!

We were in a tangle mess...

Ruby Hibiscus

I saw these beautiful red hibiscus on my way into the market, and I had to stop to take a few shots. This obsession of mine doesn't hurt anyone, or did any damage to things, so I will go on and just love what I'm doing.

Don't you think this color is so beautiful? I love the heart of this hibiscus, and it was the first thing that calling to my eyes. Those little deep color of red dots were just so wonderful to see.

Have a great week ahead, everyone!

Musing With a Purpose

Last year while driving to a friend's house, my daughter got in an accident. Well, someone hit her on the passenger's side, and luckily she was not hurt! She called my cell continuously but where was I? I was out taking pictures and didn't carry the phone with me!

It was not intentional, I swear, but I often forgot my phone than anything else. I have left it at restaurants, I have misplaced it several times, and I have left it in the rain! Is it just me or does it has something to do with age? I certainly want it to be just me, and not the later.

Since my daughter couldn't get a hold of me, she proceeded onto her journey, and did what she thought was the right thing to do. Wrong, I am telling you, it was wrong! She didn't call the police to report the accident, and she only took the guy's phone numbers!

It turned out the guy who hit her was a Detroit Policeman, off duty, and he assured her that he would pay for the damage on her car. She trusted this authority figure, and literally took his words for granted.

After three weeks of jerking us around to get three different estimates, this policeman decided to swallow his promise, and it was too much money for him to pay. We went over this issue, her hurt feelings about this dishonest man who supposed to enforce the law, and how her car look. At the end, we were just thankful that she didn't get hurt, and the car still functions fine.

So for all the teenager drivers out there, do you know what to do?

  • Call the police right away
  • Get their license plate numbers
  • Get their driver license numbers
  • If possible, get some witnesses
  • Get their proof of insurance
Most importantly, don't trust anyone, and let the police handles this icky situation! It will be on the record, and you will have more control of the situation.

The Odd Moment

Soon after the incident passed, he started class, and introduced himself as R., an Elementary Principal by day, and a part-time professor by night.

He then took attendance but when he got to my last name, (my husband's of long ago and back then), he started to tell the class how they've met. It couldn't be any weirder than this!

While I was totally head-over-hill taken by this man, he talked about (my husband-back then and long ago.) I felt like a cheat! The blood rushed onto my cheeks, and I thought I was caught in action.

"Everybody in the tri-county knows my husband! It's a small town!" I cut him off.

He darted a look at me, and my knees crumpled under the desk. He hypnotized me! Something about him bewitched me. This man had some kinds of magical power over my being. I would completely surrender if he should just say a word to me. The feeling was so strong, and very foreign to me.

It was not a gradual development! It was like a sudden wave washing over me. It was like a lightning strike!

He went on with the syllabus, what we had to do, attendance, group project, and the requirement observation hours for the semester. Since this was "Teaching for Elementary Teachers" class, most of our time would be in the classroom at the school of our choice.

He pranced back and forth by my seat, and boy, he smelled so good! That sense of smell knocked me in a trance of no mercy. It paralyzed my thinking process. It put me in a dream of fantasy.

Something was happening inside but I had no way to stop it...

Orange "Blue-Eyed" Daisy

This is the orange color blue-eyed daisy, and you can see or read more about it on my other blog, Reach Beyond Limits for Blue Monday. I like this flower more and more each year, so I stalked my local nurseries in search for different colors.

I took a series of shots, but the full sun light washed out the beautiful orange color a you can see in the collage above. Therefore, I went back to the nursery in the evening to do my snapping, and the color came out just right!

I love the streaks of blue color on each petals of this flower. It's so unique and beautiful! For more information on how to grow and care for the blue-eyed daisy, click on this link.

Shine Like The Sun

I'm losing my mind, seriously! I know the name of this flower, I swear. It was right on the tip of my tongue just a few minutes ago, but after waiting to upload these pictures, the name flied out of the window.

I think they are either Tickseed or Sunfire, but which one I'm not sure! I'm so confused now, just like this week! The fourth of July on Monday really threw me off, and my little boy leaving for his dad's house on Thursday didn't help either.

After looking up on the internet, I found out that some called these flowers tickseed, and other preferred to them as sunfire. So they are all in the family, and they are perennial flowers.

Sunfire, lives up to its name, is a sun-loving plant! They are drought tolerant and are best in well-drained soil.

Love At First Sight

I don't believe in love at first sight until it happened to me once upon a time. It was the strangest feeling that I had ever experience, but it was also wonderful.

After the whole day of lugging my heavy book bag around from building to building, I finally had a chance to just drop it at the first desk in my last evening class. As the sound of the book bag hit the table, I heard someone calling my name, "BC". Cranky, tired, and hungry, I didn't even bother to turn around when I spurted loudly, "What?"

I just wanted to catch a few minutes before my class started and devoured my snacks consisted of a bag of Doritos chips, and a bottle of water. The voice echoed again with my name, but this time was more of urgency.

"Whaaaaat now?" I asked furiously!

Having dealt with so many problems throughout the day, I wasn't about to put up with another one at 8:00 PM. All I was thinking was to get through this last class and to go home to my children.

The voice became softer, "A woman at the Administration asked me to give you this!"

I looked up, my heart leaped right out of my chest, and I actually heard my head murmured, "There he is. It is him!"

He, stood in front of my eyes, in human flesh, and literally knocked the wind out of my being. He, appeared exactly as the man I had dreamed of for a very long time. I was numbed! Speechless! And stunt to the core! My emotions were all messed up and the feeling was overwhelming to the max.

He was the vision that can only existed in my imagination, handsome, confident, powerful, sweet, and there was something about him that gripping. He was like a magnet!

He handed me the note, and went back to his desk! I couldn't even open my mouth to thank him. My eyes just followed his image when I suddenly realized that I had yelled at my new teacher!

Chasing Butterfly

Late in April and during May, my backyard were full of lily leek flowers. These little elegant white flowers were a welcome sign of Spring.

Lily leek flowers are one of those perennials that come back every year without any help. They quickly taken over the yard, but only lasted for about three weeks.

Butterfly loved to come out and played during this time also. I had a great time following this butterfly, and took some pictures.

In different part of the yard, the butterfly showed a different shade of color on the back of its wing. I think when the sun was high, the color washed out a little to the shade of orange.

Enjoy your long weekend, and have a great Independence Day!
