One Beautiful Art Piece

As my friend and I hovered over the bar table on our barstools for a cup of coffee, we saw this piece of art and got into a heating discussion. For some reasons, we disagreed over the placement of the picture below in a coffee shop.

It sat on the window sill against the wall along with a few other pieces. My friend thought it looks great where it was, but me, I argue that it would be better if the owner hung it up to show how beautiful this piece really was.

My friend thinks it looks "homely" to have art pieces sitting against the wall, as she does in her own house. So back and forth we go on with our discussion, but at the end no one wins since it is not our place to decide.

What do you think? Should this piece be hanging up, or stays on the floor? I thought it would be fun to hear other people's opinion.

Orange Flowers With Yellow Center

There were many of these flowers in the Belle Isle Conservatory. They were growing under other big plants, but nevertheless they bloomed beautifully.

I don't know what they are. I just know that the orange color on these flowers was so vibrant, and the yellow center was just beautiful.

I added some textures on this picture to change the mood and tone! Playing with photo shop relaxes me, and gives me new perspective.

I'm Delila

Hello there, my name is Delila, and I am an early Easter Bunny. I come to live with a boy named JoJo and his mom. I was bred as a double-dwarf bunny, which meant that I would only grow as big as a football.

The boy in the red shirt is my first boy, and the boy in the white shirt is my second boy. I'm loved and care for everyday. These boys take me outside and let me run around in the yard when it was nice and warm.

Here I am, playing hide and seek with mom. She carries a camera and follows me everywhere. The breeder told JoJo that I was six weeks old when he came to get me. So, I really am just a baby still.

Mom thought that this pose is the cutest thing, but I do that all the time. I stand on my hide legs for a better view. I think I've adopted a great family since they went out of their ways to make me comfortable.

Finding My Way

Hiding behind those weeping willow trees, was the gorgeous building that once housed the casino. To get across, this bridge with white fencing served the way for pedestrians. I am pretty sure that there was a way to get there by car too, but I haven't found it yet.

I just love the view of the whole area, and the reflections in the water of the building, the bridge, and the trees.

The picture above gave me an eerie feel as though there were two parts of this water. A darker part seems to be separated by the reflection of the bridge, but it was not.

You can see a bit of the building's reflection in this photo above. Those pictures were taken last year, but just now that I realize the way to that building after uploading them. I tried to use up my time productively while out for photo opt, and forgot to live in the moment.

Hail to the Kittens

Hovering over my seat at an Asian restaurant are these two colorful kittens. They stood there with a symbol of luck and welcoming sign. Even though I don't understand what the words are, I just translated to be good things.

I thought these photos are colorful enough for me to enter Color Carnival, which is something I wanted to do for a long time, but couldn't find anything appropriate enough until now.

I like these kittens, and the way they raised their hands. It is always interesting to see statues like these and wonder what they're thinking, representing, or doing.

Just Green for Monday

Another week is here, and we are officially in spring even if the weather turns on us. It is colder this last week than the week before. The process of blooming seems to take much longer, or it could be of my anticipation for colors and flowers.

I have these cacti for over two year in my little garden outside. I thought that it would not come back after the winter, but it did. These cacti were very hardy and beautiful as border to my flowers.

I had a row of these babies and I like them very much since they are very easy to care for. I just put them in the soil, and watch them grow.

When everything is dried and died, these cacti stayed green and finally turned reddish color. They were the first to come back and last to go in my garden.

Have a great Monday!

Spring Kids' Sandals

For those moms that have little girls, these beautiful spring sandals are for you! I chance upon these gorgeous, and girly sandals while looking at some for me. Hey, I have short attention span, so rather than trying on one pair after another, I was totally into these cute shoes.

The maker of these rainbow sandals are Sketchers! They looked and felt very comfortable. The colors are just perfect for those fancy Easter's outfits.

I love this rainbow colors sandal! They look so springy, if there is such a word! This pair is smaller than the palm of my hand, and I could imagine a little toddler walking in this.

This pair is from Nike, and look at how cute this is! They are in darker pink shade, but nevertheless, pink as pink could be.

Look at those pink ladybugs and butterflies! Are they not beautiful? I like this whimsical design, and admire the creativity that goes in making these cute sandals.

Hanging Out By the Pond

Gorgeous blue sky and clear nice day! Our favorite outdoor is nowhere else but Belle Isle Island. We stop here at this small water pond to wander around, watching the ducks, counting the geese, and looking for wild flowers at the edge.

This is a beautiful spot just to hang out, even though the trash in the pond was really disgusting to see. It gave us an easy feeling as we watch those critters pecking at them.

Do you have a favorite place in your area that you go to often? I guess the reason why I bonded with Belle Isle is the great memories of family togetherness we had there.

When Relationship Goes Bad

Almost three years ago, I wrote this article, Five Signs That Tell Your Relationship is Over based on how I felt, and experienced. I'm not one to gloat about how many views this article has received, or how much money it has earned me. However, I just know that this article is still circulating very strong, and I've received a number of requests through email for advices on when to throw in the towel.

However, I am not trained as an expert in relationship. I can only offer my own experiences as stepping stones for those that need a little road map.

Determine the stages of your relationship

Write down as many questions as you might have. The act of writing it out helps clarify your thinking, and gives you a concrete perspective.
  • Can this relationship be saved?
  • Do I want to save it?
  • What makes you happy?
  • How many times has it happened in the past?
  • How long did it takes before things slip back to the old mold?
  • Can you both find a way to work things out?
  • Are you both committed to a change for the better?
  • What holds you back?
  • What are your fears?
  • What do you really want?
  • How much longer can you take?
  • Why are you unhappy?
Take some times to look over your questions, and answer each one in great details. Keep a journal while you are going through this hard time. It is not only release your anxiety feelings, but it is also served as direction when you're looking back.

The "ah-ha" moment for each person is different, and so is the endurance level. Some can take it for the rest of their lives, but some must break away in order to rebuild their lives. No one can tell the other what to do or when to throw in the towel. Only you can tell when the time is right.

Explore your heart and your mind. Take some steps to save your relationship, go to couple counseling, or family counseling, because it takes hard work to mend a broken relationship.

If you need additional reading materials on relationship, hop over to Anne's blog TheRelationshipSuperMarket.com to read her wonderful articles.

Do you have an "ah-ha" moment to share? I would love to know..

A Touch of Color on Mini Mums

Snow has all melted, and the daffodils, tulips and irises are starting to push through the dirt. I finally got the old leaves picked up in part of our back yard where these flowers are growing just to make sure they will get enough sun.

This was a miniature chrysanthemum that I saw in the supermarket. The color was so subtle that it might be light pink or light lavender, depending on the light available.

I like how the color changes in different angle too. In the picture above, the mums looked a bit in the peachy color. This particular supermarket carried many different types of miniature flowers.

Do you know that I still believe I have black thumb even though I could grow zinnia from seeds? That is because I couldn't grow mums, gerbera daisy, and a few other flowers no matter how hard I tried.

Maybe it means I should just admire these flowers, but not growing them.

Enroll In Cord Blood Bank To Help Haiti

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Cryo-Cell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

For the last few years, we all have heard of cord blood or umbilical cord blood, but do you realize how important it is in saving life? This option was not available when I had my children or else I would have considered saving it for future events if the illness presents itself .

Cord blood is found in the umbilical cord, and the placenta which are rich in stem cells. It could be used to substitute for bone marrow to treat diseases, and boost the immune system from the complication of other treatment.

For many new parents, banking the cord blood could become one of the most important investments in your child's life. No one wants to think that far down the road, but if a child gets sick, he/she might get a second chance from his/her own umbilical cord blood. On top of that, it could even save a family member.

Look in to this information, and consider it seriously. If there is one way to take control of life's outcome in your hands, saving the umbilical cord blood is it! Furthermore, during this time when you are banking your infant cord blood, Cyro-Cell will also donate $25, from each enrollment to the "Save the Children: Haiti Relief Fund." We all know how devastating the earthquake did to this country, and they could use every bit of help.

So enroll now!
