We Observed
R. assigned me to one of the most difficult teachers in his school. She was known for being grumpy, and hardly ever smiled. Every Friday, I showed up at his Elementary to do my observation, and helped my mentor teacher with her classroom.
My duties included grading the kids paper, helped them with their projects, gave them spelling test, organized art projects, and whatever Mrs. E. wanted me to do. I had my own table at the back room. I did my observation from there, and worked with the kids from there.
I showed up on time, and went home when I was done. I kept the relationship between me and Mrs. E. pleasant since she had to report back to R. on occasion.

A month went by, R. never missed an opportunity to pop into my classroom to dash a look at me. I knew, I saw, but I kept it cool thinking that he kept tap on me. If I was not in my assigned room, R. would go to the next classroom to look for me, since Mrs. E. and Mrs. M. were co-teaching. I went with my students!
Mrs. M. was very sensitive and intuitive! She always sent me to the office to ask R. for favors such as printing extra papers for her class, or signed approval for field trips, or art projects. One day she said, "R. would not say no to you", when she sent me to get extra paper printed.
It was that obvious! It was that translucent!
At the end of my observation day, R. always waited at the entrance of his office, which was right by the entrance and exit door of the school, and asked, "Did you have a good day?"
I, in turn, always answered, "Yes, thank you!"
Then we lingered on each other's face for a few moments for the long weekend ahead...
