Thin Ice
Part of R's requirements for his class was the "mock interview" that he would conduct with all of us. He went through great length on insisting us to repeat each question the interviewer asked us. He was not a regular man! He was very controlling and monopolizing person, my classmates all decided when we talked "behind his back."
Me? I still found his annoying characters charming, and alluring! I was hopelessly in love with this man as far as my feelings went. He couldn't do any wrong in my book! He was just that perfect!
By now the people in both schools, my college classmates and the Elementary teachers, knew that only I could persuade him to do something. I was sent to ask him to let us out early since most parents in class had children concerts to attend, including me. I was sent by teachers to ask him to attend our science presentation. He complied with all my requests!

On my mock interview day, I put on my best dress, and showed up at his office. He asked many questions, which I refused to repeat. Instead of sitting across from me, he pulled his chair right next to my side and said, "You suppose to repeat my questions before answering, remember?"
"I remember, but I'm not a parrot! I heard your questions just fine!" I answered
He scratched his head for a moment, and expressed his confusion. Then he went on, "By repeating the questions, it will buy you more time to think, and it shows that you listen..."
"When I need more time to think, I'll do that, but I come prepared with answers." I argued
R. sighed at my testy attitude. I didn't know why, but I just couldn't do what he had asked or taught us. With him sitting so close to me, I must have lost my head...

oh Icy, smart and witty you, I love your mock interview :) haha!
I can identify with this. I;m not fond of controlling people. They scare me.
Your story gets more and more interesting as you give us more information Icy.
I have conducted a lot of interviews and it would have driven me crazy if the person I was interviewing repeated all of my questions. It probably would have meant they would not have gotten the job. Glad to hear you disagreed with him.
Love your feisty attitude. You go girl!
I really enjoyed this. This was an example that we should take a stand and not necessarily do what everyone else is doing.
