Good-Bye Lizzie, Jan Harper, Louie Jerome!
It is a sad day today for me to learn that a writing friend has just passed away. Many of you know her as Louie Jerome, or Jan Harper. However, I know her as Lizzie, Lizzie2UK, when I first wrote at Triond three years ago. She was already quite successful when I arrived on the scene. We became supportive friends after my first article "Coping With the Common Cold" got picked up by Life Hacker!
Glynis Smy reported that Jan died of cancer, and brain tumor! She was in her fifties! Now, this hits too close to home for me, and it numbed my feelings.
When we were active on Triond, Jan and I became friends through email. If she knew of a writing site, she would let me know and vice versa. We wrote everywhere, from Triond, to Associate Content, to eHow, to Bukisa and paid ad reviews.
This last year, we didn't keep in touch as I am sort of fading away from Triond and other writing sites. Jan had published a book and you can check them out here, on her blog.
The writing community has just lost a great writer, and I feel a bit empty at the moment.
Good-bye Lizzie, Jan, Louie! Thank you for being my friend, even for a just a short while! I shall miss you, always...
(Check out her grandson's blog, to read what he wrote about his nanna, and to leave comments for the family..)

I never had the pleasure of knowing your friend Icy but I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
ReplyDeleteThough I don't really know her... I can feel sadness in my heart too. Being a blogger and a writer, I know that we all lost a very special soul. But one thing is sure... her legacy will keep her memories alive.
ReplyDeleteIcy, I am deeply saddened by Lizzie's passing. We commented and wrote to each other, sharing laughs etc... This is a huge loss and I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends and fellow bloggers.
ReplyDeleteIcy, remember how we would chat in the chat room? I do hope she did not have too much suffering and wish her family comfort. She truly was a prolific writer. It kind of hits close to home.
ReplyDeleteTake care & God bless!
Glynis sent me the post she wrote about Jan. She was one of the first writers I met on triond as well, however she left triond after it became engulfed with mediocre content and trolls. She was a wonderful person and she will be missed.
ReplyDeletemy sincerest condolences to you both, icy and juds...please promise me you both will take care of yourselves...
ReplyDeleteShe was a great writer and person in general. She died way to young... I'm gonna miss her..
ReplyDeleteHi ladies--your words are my comfort at this time. I don't deal well with death!
ReplyDeleteJudy and Alexa, I remember our group, our chat, and our circle!
I was so saddened to hear about Jan's death. She was still so young. It always scares me to hear of young people dying.
ReplyDeleteShe was a great person and a fantastic writer.
So sad to hear someone dies. I only knew her for her writings. So good of you to share this.
ReplyDeleteI was so shocked and saddened to hear about Lizzie's passing. She was a wonderful person and writer and she will be greatly missed.
ReplyDeleteIt is very sad to hear about death. I understand how you feel, given the connection you have with her.
ReplyDeleteIt is a sad time. Jan will be laid to rest Friday 13th 1pm in the UK. I will take time to have a silent moment to remember my friend.
ReplyDeleteSharing your sadness.
This is really touching. I remember she was one of the people who supported me when I first joined Triond in 2006. She always took the time to support me even though she had lots of people to support. She really will be missed.

Today I read first time Louie's article on Troind "http://writinghood.com/writing/how-much-money-can-you-make-from-triond/" and i got impressed by her writing style and also drop a comment (dafreesan,)then I check her profile to read more articles (as she mentioned that she has written more than 500 articles on triond) And I come to know she is no more. I feel very sad and tried to find more information about her on google and come across your blog. I feel she is still alive and guiding us as her article I mentioned above saved my 100's of hour. I feel deeply grateful to Louie. Thank you friend for your article about Louie.
