Chasing Butterfly

Late in April and during May, my backyard were full of lily leek flowers. These little elegant white flowers were a welcome sign of Spring.

Lily leek flowers are one of those perennials that come back every year without any help. They quickly taken over the yard, but only lasted for about three weeks.

Butterfly loved to come out and played during this time also. I had a great time following this butterfly, and took some pictures.

In different part of the yard, the butterfly showed a different shade of color on the back of its wing. I think when the sun was high, the color washed out a little to the shade of orange.

Enjoy your long weekend, and have a great Independence Day!

  5. How very interesting, and how very beautiful and a wonderful pastime chasing butterflies. Great minds do thing alike, one of my favorite artful endeavors. That and blowing bubbles at my dog and cats while I weed in the back yard and try like mad to capture a photo such as the ones you have -- all in the good name of blogging that is.
    Have a good week end.

  7. Icy B those are great shots - especially of those butterflies as they don't sit around too long.
