Lavender Asters

I like the lavender color of this asters, but again I can't grow them. Not only I have black thumb; my black thumb was cursed! I bought some of these asters last year thinking that since they won't grow in my garden, I would grow them in pots!
I tended to them, watering them, and even talking to them. They were fine for the first week, and I thought that we had passed the crucial stage, only they died the second week after!
I gave up! This year I only bought enough flowers to plant at my Dad's grave, and not at home. Whatever grows or comes back, I welcome them. I won't try very hard anymore.
Have a great week ahead!
Enjoy other entries at Today Flowers, and Mosaic Monday!

Icy, so glad your power is back on! Beautiful flowers to beckon in a beautiful and blessed day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors! love the purple and yellow. I have always had the hardest time getting flowers to grow at home. I recently planted a flower box with Lobelia and some herbs...we will see how that goes! Hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteahhh! they are so beautiful, icy. absolutely beautiful....

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of a beautiful flower. Isn't nature amazing in creating such wonderful color combinations.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good finger on the shutter though. These are nice images.
ReplyDeleteMine come back year after year. They are a little floppy but very pretty.
ReplyDeleteNice photos. I was just looking through a Martha Steward Living from 1996 where there's a several page article on asters. Evidently there are several varieties of aster that are prone to flopping or mildewing. If your experience was a "total flop," it may not just be the color of your thumb.
ReplyDeleteMight be worth a second try after a little research on different varieties.
Great color!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you should give up quite so easily. they are very pretty and I am glad you enjoyed them for a short time anyway.
ReplyDeleteLovely color and detail & the collage is gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteI have a terrible black thumb too, so I gave up this year, but I've been able to photograph all sorts of great flowers at the local botanical garden. Let someone else do the work!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors. I have a black thumb, too. Happily, mine is counteracted by my Hubby's vibrant green one.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the asters but I am sure that are other flowers that you do grow well. Lovely photos.

ReplyDeleteI love asters. Unfortunately so do the local rabbits. I'll have to enjoy yours. :)
ReplyDeletenice photos - I'm wondering if those flowers are fleabanes as even I find them hard to keep from one year to the next.
ReplyDeleteThe color of these asters is really beautiful Icy. I have never tried to grow asters before but it might have been the type.
ReplyDeleteWell, I do appreciate flowers and beautifully landscaped gardens. I admire the hard work put into it. It's a good thing I don't have a part on it. hahahaha I have no patience. That is why I don't grow any plants because I hate the hard work. But I do love to receive bouquet of flowers.
ReplyDeleteYou grew a lovely mosaic, tho...the colors are magnificent.
ReplyDeleteblessings,
glenda
