My Friday Brag!

Dear Friends,

As many of you have known, my niece is now living abroad, and is an ESL teacher in South Korea. While she was in transit, her mom and I were sitting on fire! We couldn't wait to hear from her, but lucky for us all, she got internet right away and we were able to connect through emails.

I then hit Skype like lightening, and I got to see my niece in her apartment! I am telling you, it was weird. I don't have a webcam on my laptop, but I still see her moving around, and showing me pieces of her new adobe. It feels like she is very close by, not across the world!

She means a lot to me, not only as a niece, but also as my god-daughter. I was there when she was born. I was there to watch her growing up. We have a very special bond! So emotionally, it was quite a ride!

Now, let me introduce you to her blog so you can have a glimpse into the life of an American ESL teacher. Hopefully, she will have more time to record her journey after she gets used to things there.

She was left on her own through the first weekend without any help or local money to buy foods, and survived on the snacks that she brought with her from the State. It was very devastating for me to know, however, she is learning and growing.

Please drop by to say hello, and welcome her to the blogging world! She won't bite, but will be giving smiles to you! She is hoping to turn her blog into an informative journey for others who might want to become an ESL teacher abroad.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and thank you!

  1. Icy I was a big fan of skype. Skype helped me and my now hubby a lot during our long distance love affair. We never missed each other during that time because we see and talk to each other everyday and we talked for hours and fell asleep too. seriously.

  10. She seems to be adjusting to her new life and doing well but I can tell she is missing everyone here. The internet, and Skype, are wonderful ways to bridge the miles.
