White Tulips With a Touch of Yellow

We had many days of rain and cold here last week, but my tulips are finally in bloom. These are a group of white tulips in my garden, and the picture above was taken after the rain.

I put together this mosaic to show how beautiful the center of the tulip is. Although the petals are white, there is a touch of yellow, and lavender inside. Without macro, I would not be able to see the details in these tulips.

I have to admit, tulips are one of those flowers that are very easy to grow, and require very little attention, but they come and go too fast once bloomed. I love to have flowers that produce continuous blooms. Nevertheless, tulips are the sign of spring!

Enjoy other entries at Mosaic Monday!

  3. HOw I wish we could grow tulips here but unfortunately the climate is not favourable for them, but there will be people like you who would post tulips for me and I'll be happy for it.

  12. It's funny how people only look at something one way when there are many ways of looking at things..even tulips. Their centres are just as interesting as their petals. Valerie

  17. They do go too fast, don't they? I have some gorgeous tulips just opening up and I know they'll be over long before I'm ready for them to fade. But doesn't that make them even more precious?

Love your white tulip - that must have been a heavy downpour! Nice sharp macros!

  24. Like you I could wish they lasted longer, but they are so beautiful while they are in bloom. I'm going to the Netherlands this summer, I hope, and I'm going to stock up on more of them.
