Pink Cactus Flowers

This week I am bringing you beautiful pink blooms from the cactus family. I don't know their names, but I was amazed by their flowers.

I found an amazing collection of different kind of cacti at nowhere else but Home Depot. They always have a large stock of cacti in their garden section, and no, I'm not advertising for them either.

This cactus above all coiled up like a snake, but what remarkable about it was those beautiful flowers sitting atop of the plant.

I was fascinated with the coiled cactus as I sneaked around for some photos. I had been told by Walmart that they don't allow people taking pictures in the store when I tried to get some shots of Easter decorations.

Here is a close-up of these flowers from the coiled cactus. I am a bit nervous now that I know some stores won't allow you to take pictures. Maybe, next time I should ask first before proceeding to pull out my camera.

  1. Ok I must admit the cactus kind of freaks me out a bit the way it is coiled up like a snake! It's just me and my fear of snakes though!! But what an amazingly beautiful flower that blooms from it!! So contrasting!! Have a wonderful PS and enjoy the weekend!! Sherri

  7. Icy, were you wearing a trench coat and dark glasses... Just teasing. Your pictures are fabulous. I do not know WalMarts problem I worked over 10 years in retail management and was never advised to stop anyone from taking photos.

  13. Looks like something that would grow under the sea, but since it's cactus, it is weird and wonderful!

  14. You found a Mammilaria elongata, and the special sneaked form is called "cristata". The smal "fingers" in one of your photos are the regular form.

Usualy the flowers are very smal and white and disappear after some days, and I thing the nice pink flowers are wonderful decoration and will be there for some years.

  16. I do like to look at cactus flowers - though most of the time in garden centres I see the little paper flowers pinned unto their tops which are nothing in comparison to the real thing you have here. They are so pretty.

  17. We don't always appreciate it, but cacti can be very beautiful plants. These pictures prove that.
