Looking Back
Driving home one day from JoJo's school, I happened to glance back in the rear mirror, and saw this scenery. I didn't realize that the camera was set on black and white mode, so I had a monochrome one by accident.

I like it anyway. It shows how dramatic the sky was on that day. It was getting ready for a storm. There was a line of cars behind me so I couldn't stop to change my setting. It turned out great in a moving motion.

This was the view from a nicer day, with sun shine, shadow, and reflection. I took this one back in November on Belle isle island. Spring will be here soon, and I will get to see bright day like this again.

Yep, they are both great!
ReplyDeleteI like the black and white! It really captures the mood of those dark clouds...very cool!
ReplyDeleteWonderful reflections. I like the b&w one best. It's sort of a bitter sweet image like moving far away. It has a sense of sadness but also hope and excitement for what's ahead.
ReplyDeleteMy power is back yippee!
Don't forget to look forwards too :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos, Icy...the monochrome seems perfect for the winter!
ReplyDeleteSuper reflection!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking cold there..not snowy, but cold. Nice reflection.
ReplyDeleteLOvely reflection pictures.Great shots
ReplyDeleteI like the views in rear mirrors, they are always full of good surprises!
ReplyDeleteWow, Icy, they are both stunning! And your post reminds me to make my mirrors look cleaner like yours.
ReplyDeleteLove these shots from the mirror. The first came out wonderful in B&W, that was certainly a happy accident. Great shot. Kathy
ReplyDeleteNow that is readiness to take a shot anytime!
ReplyDeleteGreat reflections!
ReplyDeletePretty cool Icy, you always have such a creative eye working round the clock. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI like both shots. They are both really nice.
ReplyDeleteTerrific reflections!
ReplyDeleteIt might not have been planned but the B&W is a wonderful shot.
I like the "accidental" B&W better though both are excellent.
ReplyDeleteThe B&W is great!
ReplyDeleteBoth shots are beautiful Icy but I really like the monochrome.
ReplyDeleteYour settings seem to be spot on, not sure I like you shooting and driving though!
ReplyDeleteI like the way the empty trees form the backdrop to the sky. It looks very architectural.
ReplyDeleteThese are very cool reflections. I really like the monochrome one. It captures the bleakness of winter very nicely. :)
ReplyDeletethey are both very nice, the monochrome works particularly well
ReplyDeleteIcy, your pictures are always awesome. Good job. Just don't get in any accidents.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the first one, but they are both lovely reflections. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteyou just never know when an opportunity pops up for a great shot like this love it:)
ReplyDeleteThe scene reflected in the bottom mirror is so clear and perfect and brilliantly composed, that it looks almost like a stage set or painting. Don't you just love it when the camera captures magic?
ReplyDeleteThank you everybody for your support, and to those that concerned about my "driving and taking picture", it wasn't like that..The car was at full stop, not rolling at even 5 MPH :-)
