Two Colors Sun Flowers
It is time to show my summer sun flowers, and they were in this deeper tone of red colors. When picking up a bag of sun flower seeds last summer in a variety mixed, I was so excited to see if they would grow.
JoJo did a sun flower project for school two years ago, and he loved to repeat this gardening part in the summer. I didn't know there were different colors of sun flowers besides yellow, so we were more than happy to grow these ones.

After looking at these sun flowers, we talk about buying different variety of colors to grow this coming summer. Our soil seems to be fertile for sun flowers, irises and cone flowers. They thrive to be their best.

This is the little flower head, all wrapped up, and young. If you have followed my blog a while, you know that I like to record the stages of growing.

From the little head, it slowly opened up into this little flower. The color was just fabulous in deep red with a touch of yellow at the tip of the petals.

As the sun flower grew bigger, the color even turned deeper, and the yellow seemed to be disappeared from the petals, but you could still see the yellow color on the back of the petals though.

marvelous!
Pretty mosaic showing the stages and I also love the close-up of the bud, how the tiny hairs catch the light.
Lovely flowers & great mosaics.
Happy MM

Beautiful! :)
Those are fantastic photos and very exotic looking. I've never seen the sunflower in that vivid red color. It's gorgeous.
Is that an Indian Blanket variety?
Love the colour of your sunflower.
Beautiful photos Icy, the colors are brilliant.
I was wondering the same thing as Garden Daisies. This could be Indian Blanket. The sunflower family is huge and includes a lot of other flowers like Rudbeckia.
The second photo almost looks like a rose beginning to open. Great shot.
Nice picture of flowers. Beautiful flowers are One of the best things to me is nature. That is why I believe that I enjoy flowers so much.
