The Koi

Last week, I featured the views of the pond where these koi fishes resided during warm weather, but the fishes were not visible. This week, you can actually see the residents of the pond.

With an eye made quiet by the power of harmony, and the deep power of joy, we see into the life of things.

Scarecrows

My nephew can be a fearless Ninja, or soldier, or policeman, but when it comes to Halloween decorations in the store, he is terrified!

It took some time for me to convince him to pose in front of these scarecrows, and he stayed long enough for two pictures.

Blend In!

We must not make a scarecrow of the law,
Setting it up to fear the birds of prey,
And let it keep one shape till custom make it
Their perch, and not their terror
~William Shakespeare

Logical consequences are the scarecrows of fools and the beacons of wise men.
~Thomas Henry Huxley

A philosophy forced upon the convictions of the observer by the disheartening prevalence of the optimist with his scarecrow hope and his unsightly smile.
~Ambrose Bierce

That proves you are unusual, returned the Scarecrow; and I am convinced the only people worthy of consideration in this world are the unusual ones. For the common folks are like the leaves of a tree, and live and die unnoticed.

Fish Pond

Here is the view of the fish pond right outside by the Belle Isle Conservatory! I have a small point and shoot camera, and could not zoom in any further for the water lilies.

This pond is situated between the Aquarium, which is closed due to the shortage of fund, and the Conservatory. During the summer time, there are many different colors of Koi fishes living in it. I bring my children here once in a while so they can enjoy watching the fishes.

I saw three different colors of waterlilies here: bright pink, yellow, and white! Looking at this pond gives me a peaceful and calm feeling. The children, of course, love to watch the fishes swimming back and forth.

Find Your Old Friends With MyLife Website

Have you ever wondered where all your friends from college are? Or have you wondered if anyone is looking for you? With today technologies, looking for your old friends becomes much easier to manage.

MyLife website makes this task possible to locate anyone on your wish list. Not only this website allows you to search for old friends, it also lets you see who is looking for you! It is one of largest sites on the internet to search for people that you want to reconnect, or curious about.

One very special person to me that I periodically looking for is a lady that I've met through our marriages. Since both of our marriages failed, and we moved many times during these times, we both lost contact. Therefore, I went on MyLife website and entered the information that I last known about her for a search.

The returning results were overwhelming with so many people with the same name, location, and age. Therefore, I narrowing down a bit further to her maiden name, her home place in Pennsylvania, and finally tracked her to her home in California!

It turned out that she has also been searching for me, and we are both happy to be able to get back in touch. Our relationship is a once in a life time special bond when we share so much of the same thoughts, feelings, and passions, and it is not easy to establish.

We have planned for a reunion this Fall to reminisce the first time we met! If you are looking for someone special in your life, check out this website, and reconnect with that person.

Scary Monsters

I took these photos at my nephew's Halloween party! They are dressed in their costumes, and put on a show to entertain their parents and relatives. They were all so cute in their costumes!

During one of their songs, the "Big Witch" jumped out to coordinate with their rehearsed expressions, and I caught it just at the right moment. When I saw these pictures, my intention was to show the monsters on the carpet, but their faces added to the title as well.

The shadows you see on the carpet were from the cut out people that were hung on the window behind them! These shadows were a surprise bonus for me also, and they fit in with their acts perfectly.

Dandelion

Now that the weather is colder, we don't see dandelion anymore! Have you ever watched how this flower changes its stages in life?

It is a simple pleasure for me to follow and capture the growing stages of a dandelion! I used to dislike them, but through my camera's lens, I become a follower!

A Touch of Colors

div>
Another Monday is here, and it is Mosaic Time! This week, I featured simple pleasures that I found in the grass. They are not flowers, just some kind of weeds really, but their colors catch my attention, and I think they are just as amazing as flowers!

Very Unique Flowers

I found these photos in my old folder, and I couldn't wait to find out their name anymore! In the back of my mind, I thought I would save them, and then when I know their name, I would post them. However, it has been over a year, and I still don't know.

Since I don't know the name of these very unique flowers, I'll borrow some quotes to represent them.

So What Am I?

You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.
Walter Hagen

Do You Know My Name?

White Chrysanthemum with a Touch of Lavender

With the weather changes, I don't get to see many more blooming flowers, except for at the supermarket's refrigerator.

I think these are chrysanthemum, with a touch of lavender, and they were sold in a bunch. The soft color of lavender accentuates these flowers so beautifully.

Lovely Mums

I took this bunch out of the refrigerator, and look for an angle to take picture. This flower above took full attention, and pretty much crushed other flowers around it.

Squeezing Together

I was trying to reserve the lavender color on these chrysanthemums, since it seemed to fade as the flowers grew bigger. Some of the flowers are so crushed together that I feel bad for them.

I hope to see these flowers and these colors combination again, next year!
