Stalking Supermarkets for Flowers

We supposed to get snow last night, but it didn't happen, and the sky was as gray as can be. For people who get Seasonal Affective Disorder, this is the dreaded time. I feel this way in the middle of winter though, and I find looking at colorful flowers can cheer me up.

Little Yellow Sun

Many local nurseries have closed for the season, and supermarkets are one of those places that are open year round. These yellow flowers are little sun shine waiting for people to take home.

White Daisies

These miniature daisies are very beautiful to see. There are so many types and sizes of daisies that are still vibrant, healthy, and blooming at this time of the year. These miniature flowers are one of those.

Purple Beauties

After many days without sun light, seeing colors can really make a different in how I feel. It is like a burst of energy has just jumping into me, and transforms my being.

Pure White

This is a beautiful chrysanthemum in its purest white color blooming at full force. It sits among the bright pink lilies, and a joy to see.

Pink Energy

A bunch of carnation caught my attention with their beautiful pink color. I took these babies home because I know they will last a long time for me to enjoy. Cut flowers don't last that long, but carnation does very well in a vase.

I wish I could trade some of our extra sunshine for your rain. Good thing the supermarket flowers cheer you up. Your pictures are delightful; you are the expert flower stalker!

You took good shots of the flowers! I do not like grocery shopping but if I go to the market, the flowers section is the first one that catches my eyes!

The markets usually do have a great selection of flowers all winter long. One of the markets I shop has a big sign on the door saying no photos, bah humbugs that they are!

Icy, I love your pics. I'm glad you took home the carnations. They do last awhile too.
