Stanchions Should Be Used at Trade Shows

I have a friend that sells jewelry at the local art fairs, and she is continuously gone to different places all the time. She said all the tables are wide open, and sometimes it is hard for people to view her displays in a proper manner, especially when it is extremely busy.

She wished these establishments had a way for crowd control, such as simple velvet rope or chain stanchions. With this system, people will take turn to enter one by one and it would be much more orderly. Above all, everyone will have a chance to see the products on display.

If you ever go to trade shows, mom to mom sales, or arts and crafts shows, do you feel like you are being tugged and shoved? That is because there are no barricades to keep the crowd in control! Everyone wants to be the first to get that better offers.

Having some of these stanchions guidance would also benefit the flow of traffic. People would know where to enter or where to exit, and would have a better experience to enjoy the show.

I have only attended one of my friend's art fairs, and because how mad it was inside, I just wanted to get out and go home. I was not up to deal with push and shove.

I've been to a few shows where those would have been very nice, the crowds were everywhere.

Icy, the fountain below is very nice and with a little imagination and work it would be gorgeous.

Did you know the comments in that post are disabled?

Icy, this is exactly why I avoid Meijer during the busy hours. There you often get carts biting at the back of your ankles and jostled from the crowds. The craft shows probably would benefit greatly by using stanchions.

Judy--I didn't know why that happened, I didn't disable it, and now I don't know how to fix it..Thanks for letting me know..

Judy Sheldon-Walker--Thank you for your support!

Ya, it can help control the crowd, but it certain occation it might be a hidrance to a passer-by, don't you think so?

Great piece, thanks!

I enjoyed this. I haven't been to a trade show, but they should find a way to control the crowds. If they aren't under control, someone could end up getting hurt.
