Wild White Asters
Last year I bought some asters at the end of the season to grow in my flower pots along the side of our house. I was hoping that they would come back, but obviously I had "black thumb". To make up for this loss, nature provides me with wild white asters along the fence in my back yard!
A Fence Filled of Asters

These asters are such a welcomed sign for fall when all other flowers withered and died out! The flowers grow strong, refreshing, and inviting for a closer look. Without having these flowers in the yard, I probably would hibernate if it were too chilly outside.
Vibrant Yellow

These bushes came from nowhere since I remembered plucking them clean in Spring. Weed flowers seem to grow better in my yard, and I have to constantly removing them, but for a short time when the weather was bad, I couldn't get to them. But look, I'm rewarded for just letting "nature takes its course!"
Sleeping Bee

What flower is without a bee? I saw this hairy bee sleeping on this bunch of asters. The body of it is bigger than the flower, and it seemed to be stuck to it from the morning dew. It didn't even move when I shook the flowers.
Getting Older

I don't know if there are two types of these wild white asters, but some of them have a yellow middle like in the first picture, and some have this red middle. Maybe, it's just getting mature! Either way, the two colors on these asters are just beautiful to see.

Great photos. Don't feel bad, weeds grow better in my garden than anything else. I haven't touched any of my flower beds all year so they look so horrible right now.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a very lovely garden. Nice post BC.
ReplyDeleteThe sleeping bee is cute -I've heard of busy bee...but never seen one who knows the word of "relax"
ReplyDeleteNice shots, Icy!
Happy weekend, girl!
I love asters...they remind me of daisies...which are my favorite flower...Great pics! I wish my weeds were that pretty...grin...
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise to find those cheerful looking flowers growing along the fence. The last shot is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIcy, these are fantastic shots. These flowers do not think your thumbs are black. :-)
ReplyDeleteoh, that sleeping beauty is a powerful capture Icy, again, you have captured the beauty of the flower wonderfully, the Icy way.
ReplyDeleteAsters are such pretty flowers, they just seem to brighten up any area. Great shots and I really like the one of the big bumble bee. I got some photos of one very similar the other day and might post her for camera critters.
ReplyDeleteI saw something on a blog a few days ago where they mentioned 'cold bees', apparently they will be very still like that until the temperatures rise and it gets warm enough for them to move around.
I've never even heard of astors, however I have a black thumb so anything that has petals instead of pine needles is new to me. lol
ReplyDeletei like the first picture a lot - does that mean anything?~~~i'm thinking about you, dear Icy, even if i haven't been here in a while.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I particularly liked the one with the sleeping bee. Bet no one has ever caught him sleeping before.
