Tuesday Treasures
On our way back from the soccer game, JoJo spotted these items, plus two dinning chairs, and he asked me to stop to pick them up for his cousin, Roco! So we stopped, huffed and puffed to stack all of these items in my CRV.
When it comes to the Rocking Car thing, the first photo, it was so heavy that the house owner sent out her husband to help us carried it and put it in our car. JoJo explained to them that he wanted it for his little cousin. Now, that is love!
It was embarrassing, but in the end we found two good pieces of things to bring home, cleaned out, and become a brand new toy for the kids. Have you found anything on the road and picked them up yet? What were your feelings going through these? One man's trash, another man's treasure?

ReplyDeleteThe toys look cute! That is so nice that JoJo wanted to do that for his cousin. I have am using a chair that someone else put out for bulk day. It seemed like a pretty good chair, but the people who were giving it away didn't want it anymore so I decided to keep it for myself. :)
ReplyDelete#1 - i love your little boy, what a loving, caring cousin! you brought him up well, Icy1 you both make me cry.
ReplyDelete#2 - i don't mind. i'm on the lookout for used bookcases mayself. have some to sell, friend?
Jo-Jo is so sweet to want to do something nice like that for his cousin. I'll bet his cousin was so happy when he got his gift.
ReplyDeleteI recently saw a table that would have been great to refinish for my office. I was driving my Camaro and could not pick it up and when I got back with the van it was gone.
You are doing such a fine job raising your son. You have instilled such worthwhile values & you are right one man's trash another man's treasure. That's what freecycle is about.
ReplyDeleteOh, that Fisher price toy is a find! My kids love their car ramp.
ReplyDeletehow thoughtful of your son to do that, Icy. no doubt you are one great mom!
ReplyDeleteask my hubby, he finds treasure from other people's trash too. sometimes i have to stop him from picking them. hehe! ;)
Jojo is so sweet to think of his cousin like that. My computer chair came from the neighbor's trash years ago and it's still good!
