The Many Different Colors Of Bandana Lantana
I had have a collection of bandana lantana in my folder for a long time, but I didn't know the name of these colorful flowers. Ive seen these flowers on Pacey's and Rainfield's blogs, and it was lovingly preferred as "ham 'n egg."
Recently, I saw these flowers again at a nursery, and I asked the gardener for the name. She said they are bandana lantana. As quickly as I can, I jogged down the name in my notebook, and thought the name was very interesting.
Yellow Lantana

When the nursery puts all the flower pots into one area, these flowers are so bright, colorful, and very beautiful. Their colors are calling out for people to come and admire them. I couldn't resist a visit and taking snap shots!
Yellow and White

I typed in bandana lantana on Google, and saw so many different colors of these flowers! They are gorgeous! I am so impressed with the varieties of colors that these flowers produced! The above flowers have some pink in the middle as they grow!
Yellow and Orange

These yellow bandana lantana flowers have some orange, almost red mixing in. I love the colors on the buds and looking at colorful flowers makes me happy.
Yellow and Red

These flowers are just remarkable! You can see a mixed of yellow, orange, red, and pink on them. They are so cheerful and simply beautiful for being such a tiny flower.
Yellow and Pink

How can I resist taking pictures of these beauties? The pink and yellow are just stunning! When I was a child, I used to pick one tiny flower at a time, and sucked on their honey. They had a very sweet taste at the end of their funnel. Has anyone else done this, or was I the only weird one?

These look like beautiful little bouquets! I used to taste honeysuckle flowers as a child, but I never tasted lantanas.
ReplyDeletelove the pink and yellow and orange and yellow arrangements! they're all lovely, Icy!
ReplyDeleteI have many various colours in my garden, here in Cyprus. When the berries form they are poisoness, so be careful.
ReplyDeleteYou always show me a part of heaven I think. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love Lantana, they are such beautiful little plants. I have the pink and yellow and will probably add more next year. I had not heard the "bandana" part of the name before, the tags and my book just used Lantana. Guess they wanted to keep it short. I like bandana lantana better.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
i love lantana too, and they are drought tolerant, so easy to grow and blooms like 12 months a year :) in this side of the country though :)
ReplyDeletewonderful pictures Icy, love them.
now, gotta go and find my lantana photos. have photographed different colors too. thanks for sharing Icy, lovely snapshots as usual. :)
ReplyDeleteI also have the yellow and pink, they are so cute and very beautiful indeed. Yeah, they're also called lantanas Icy. Some layman call it ham and eggs, maybe of the yellow and pink variation match well with the name.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures as always, and just as beautiful descriptions!!
