Let's Play Tag!

I've been tagged by Daisy at In Love With Daisy today, and this is a fun meme to participate. So I am taking on this challenge.

Here are the rules:

1-- Go to your photo files…Select the 6th photo folder

2-- Select the 6th photo in that folder

3-- Post that photo along with the story behind it.

4-- Then challenge 6 blogging friends to do the same!

I have so many photo folders on my computer, but in the sixth folder, I found this photo below, taken last summer.

Annually, I take my son and nephew to plan flowers at my dad's grave every summer. These boys had never met their grandfather, and while we planted flowers, I told them a bit about my dad. This helped them to get to know who my dad was, and what he meant to me. The boys loved to help with watering the flowers also.

I then took pictures of the newly planted flowers, printed them out, and sent them to my mom, who lives in California so that she would not worried about my dad's grave being neglected. (One of those old traditions!)

On to my six blogging friends:

1--Betchai at The Joys of Simple Life

2--Joanne at Poetic Shutterbug

3--Diane at Sabino Canyon

4--Glynis at New Scribbles from Glynis Smy

5--Pacey at Today's Blah

6--Squirrel Queen at Through Squirrel Eyes

Have fun everybody and I hope you all join the fun!

  3. Thanks for tagging me. Very sweet photo. Sad that the boys never knew their grandfather. Sounds like your dad died before his time. You are a caring daughter to plant flowers at your dad's grave and send pictures to your mom.

  5. thanks for the tag Icy. those are pretty flowers, and it is very nice of your little boys to help. i too did not grow up with paternal grandparents, but the stories I heard from my father helped me a lot in knowing them and learn also from their life's story. I am sure your boys would learn a lot from the stories you are telling them about your dad.
