Bee on Sunfire
If you ever get bored taking pictures of things around your yard, get in the car and drive to a close by nursery. Here, you will find a variety of subjects for your liking. Don't mind those people who will be curious about what you are doing.
They don't know any better, but you do! You have a mission, and you will achieve it, despite all those weird stares shooting at you. Being normal is boring, so be daring, and click away!
A Field of Tickseed Sunfire

Yes, I know the name of these flowers, and they are called tickseed sunfires! The name is so fitting, isn't it? I wrote it down in my note book this time since I can't rely on my own memory anymore.
Can You See Me?

While other people shy away from these flowers because of bees, I decided to be the "weirdo" for the day, and come closer for the pictures! I figure if I don't bother the bee, it won't bother me, and I was right!
See Through

You have to click on this photo to look at the see-through bee's body! It is too busy sucking on the honey of this tickseed sunfire to bother with me.
Facing the Bee

This is the front angle of the bee, and its colors are blending in with the flower almost. I was a bit nervous and worried that I might get stung with all buzzing bees around me, but I probably didn't smell anything like flowers in this nursery!
All Mine!

After taking many pictures and watching the bees for a while, I realize that each bee has its own sunfire flower to do its jobs. I didn't see any flowers with two bees on them. To each its own!
Vibrant Colors

This is just a stunning flower with vibrant yellow and red! No wonder it is called sunfire! There are many different types of flowers, but my time was up at this one stop. The bee has all my attention for the day!
Well, this is my adventure for the week...Thank you for coming along with me!

LOvely photos, IC. I am carrying my camera wherever I go, too.
Have a nice day. :)
You're braver than I...that is a tad closer to a bee then I want to get...great pics again...I never thought about snapping pics at a nursery...Did anyone say anything to you about it? I can see people thinking you are a spy for another nursery and you are getting the pics to compare with your flowers...grin...
What some great shots of beautiful flowers with the bees. They wont sting you. I sat next to a flowering bush absolutely buzzing with bees and, as you said, each bee on a different flower. It was great.
Wonderful shots I like the ones with the bee. Just they other day I was stung all over by yellow jackets. stepped into a nest. I am okay now. meds and rest did me well. I still like the ones with the bees. It is just nice to see them in the pictures. thanks for the name, I tend to forget for flowers names so it is nice to see them listed.
oh, you're so funny Icy, yet you're so right. being normal is boring, so let us be daring and click away :) Oh, how I wish I have your guts, saw a lot of nice flowers at Home Depot and Armstrong garden here, but too shy to take them a picture, maybe I should. I always go to park or somewhere else.
By the way, another set of beautiful pictures. As long as you won't come in the way of the bee, they won't harm you, I was also scared of bees before, but I noticed they are actually kind of tame. but we do need to pay attention to their path :)
These are great pics, Icy. I don't like bees being near me. Ever since I got stung by a bee, I never liked them being near me.
I like the "Facing the Bee" picture. What big eyes and shiny wings it has! Every time I'm at my plant nursery I forget to have my camera. There are cats all over the place and I miss out on cute cat pictures. Good thing you had your camera for the Sunfires with bees.
First is i love your new header, looks light yet strong, hahaha...
Oh,the flowers are just so beautiful and being weirdo is sometimes a must, a need to be. I do so too. I don't mind too if I'm restos and photog my food before I eat, hahaha...co-diners would just stare and do some hush-hush whispers but who cares as long as I'm happy with my shots.
Just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger award over on Hazel's Crock Pot Kitchen...Hugs...
Grace,
Thanks for stopping by..
Lilfix,
My camera is too small for them to notice, and no one has stopped me yet..
MiddleDitch,
I was perfectly still and didn't cause any stir around them.
Auntie E.
I'm terrible with names..Sometimes, I wrote them down, and then I don't know which one is which.
Betchai,
My son and I even take pictures in the pet shops..Unless, the owner says we can't, but we haven't meet one yet..
Cheryl,
I got stung once, right on the lips, just minding my own business.
Diane,
The first thing I grab is my camera when I leave the house, not the phone like most people would have.
Pacey,
I didn't mind being the weirdo at all, except for a guy who decided to be weirder than me, by following me and asked me if I have any plan with the pictures. I told him that I was taking the photos to show my "life partner", and "SHE" is very fussy about the colors. He walked away as fast as he can. :-)
Lilfix,
Thank you for the award!
Those are amazing colors.
I can almost reach out and touch them.
Love your gorgeous sunny looking pics & your new header!!! It looks so fresh and new now!
Dorothy,
Thank you..the colors sure are vibrant, aren't they?
Judy,
Thank you..I hope I don't feel restless and re-do this blog again for a long while..
Tomas,
I am really happy to know that you enjoy viewing my post! Thank you..
